Lifetime permit.  Unless I commit a felony, of course. :-)

Full size Springfield National Match 1911-A1 .45  with Charter Arms .38 Undercover back up.  I wear lots of loose fitting shirts.

Cold Steel (spelling?) Tylite 4".  Comes out of pocket open.  If they have a knife it slows them down til I can draw.  Hopefully they are at least 15 feet away.

Thank God I have never had to unholster.

Yes and sometimes.

I have thought about getting mine for the following reasons:

1)  I would feel better when out riding my road bike.

2)  It would then be legal for me to keep my handgun in my backpack when I go bow hunting.  In my state it is supposed to be unloaded in a dedicated case (while traveling in a motorized vehicle).  Kind of a pain.  Would be much easier to just throw it in the backpack.

I have a permit, but only carry sparingly. I have a Ruger SR9C. I do make it a point to go to the shooting range at least once per month to keep my comfort level with handling the weapon safely and effectively up to date...

I need to get one. I need to see how it works in PA now that I am out here.

Driver: Taylormade RBZ :tmade: Irons: Titleist AP1 :titleist: PW-4 All other clubs are needing upgrading as I am able to afford it.

In Pa. you need to visit your county Sheriff's office to complete an application for a carry permit. They will perform a background check and will contact the references you list.

Yes and always unless going to the court house etc.

Just joined this forum today. Saw this and feel right at home. :-D

I have carried most of my adult life. A look at my online "handle" should let you know I am a gun enthusiast. I started shooting action pistol competitions as my kids got old enough that I wasn't coaching 2 or 3 little league teams at a time. Have done so for a decade. Sadly I have gotten burned out on it the last couple of years. Still fun, and my 3 sons shoot with me a good bit, but looking for a new challenge/change.

My oldest son graduated from college last year and started playing golf with his buddies. He wanted me to give it a try. Now 2 of my sons and I are hooked. We are all terrible, but enjoying trying to learn the game.

So, as to carrying. If you think you should sometimes, you should all the time, law and employment allowed.

Think of carrying like wearing your seat belt when you are in a car. You wear the seat belt all the time, b/c you never know when you will have a wreck. :bugout:

I am looking to pick something up more for summer clothes than my LC9.  Either a .380 or .32, any recommendations?  I had a Sig P238, but even that was a bit bulky at times.

My buddy has a .380.  I believe it is very similar to your LC9.  He likes it a lot.

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
