My understanding is they test rookies 4 times a year but after the rookie year they are tested once in the off-season.  I have seen conflicting reports, so maybe that's not current policy.

You could be right. When I looked it up it was tricky to find anything straight from the NBA.

In my bag:

Driver: Titleist TSi3 | 15º 3-Wood: Ping G410 | 17º 2-Hybrid: Ping G410 | 19º 3-Iron: TaylorMade GAPR Lo |4-PW Irons: Nike VR Pro Combo | 54º SW, 60º LW: Titleist Vokey SM8 | Putter: Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas H7

Maybe I would and maybe I would not.  Not really my decision to make (and I don't have the expertise to say).

My initial point was solely based on the premise that he did in fact break the rule.  I do not have sympathy for rule breakers.  If he did in fact use marijuana (I don't want to argue that point), he had to know the potential consequences.  And still chose to jeopardize his career?

I agree with your point, Gordon broke the rules and deserves the punishment.  My point was really addressing the rule itself and given we're legalizing marijuana use one state at a time it would make sense to treat marijuana use the same as alcohol use.

Remember this is from the guy that never tried drugs and doesn't drink so I'd be okay if both were banned or legalized and taxed.

Josh failed at least 4 test for dope and got a dwi before he talked to the commissioner after failing the most recent test. He's an idiot I don't feel bad for him at all.

I hadn't followed this guy's career that close, but when you say "dope" was there a positive test for something other than weed?

No, dope as in weed, as in pot, as in kush, as in Mary J, as in Hash, as in Sticky Green, as in Party Candy as in MJ's special sauce in Space Jam.

Wrong.

Failed one for codeine in a prescription, and his 70th test for weed by 1 nG.

No he tested positive in college. Failed at least another test in the nfl. He's failed 6 drug tests since 2010 including the latest one. http://www.dawgsbynature.com/2013/6/14/4428588/thoughts-on-josh-gordon-and-his-suspension

Ha ha yeah so I guess it was 3 times in the nfl and 3 in college. Either way he's an idiot and he's throwing away a golden opportunity to make a lot of $$$$$.

No argument here. I won't touch the stuff out of fear of losing my job (one of a few reasons...). I definitely wouldn't if 8 figures were on the line.

Couldn't say it better. Also I couldn't agree more.

Yes, looking forward to watching the Green Bay Packers woop up on the Seahawks.  Pay back for the BS that occurred a couple of years ago.

I really hope you are right. I'm just not nearly that confident in GB. Id love to see 35-17 packers win but a new nose tackle and a new center doesn't bode well for GB on the road. If I had to bet I'd say 28-24 Seattle but I hope I'm wrong.

Brady didn't practice today with a vague calf injury and the Boston media is going absolutely batshit.

    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
