Yeah, but do the Thursday games even really count as primetime??  Does anybody except the home teams fans even watch those games??  I know the Chargers have a Thursday game in a few weeks, and I'll make a point to be watching that one, but otherwise I don't think anybody's really watching.

I watch every Thursday night game.

The NFL is trying to give the improve the quality of Thursday night games but because the schedule is so difficult to manage it's hard to find quality matchups that can play on a short week that aren't on a bye or coming off a short week.

Yeah, I was wondering earlier why they don't just schedule most thursday night games to come after bye weeks? At least weeks 4 through 12.

Honest question here, not sarcastically rhetorical:  (EDIT:  LOL, @Slice of Life beat me to it!)

Would it be too much to ask for the NFL to set up the schedule such that every Thursday game pits two teams that just came off a bye?  Seems really dumb to ask teams to recover from the last game and prepare for the next game in half the time as normal, and then expect it to be anything but a big turdfest.

Interesting first six weeks Steelers are 3-3 and in last place what the hell... Mike Nugent shanks a field goal and we have the 3rd tie in as many years... STL@SF 2012 MIN@GB last year, and CAR@CIN this year... a tie is like kissing your sister ok maybe your really hot stepsister but still ties suck

Why do Browns fans delight more in the Steelers sucking than the Browns doing well? Misery loves company or something? Serious question.

Most of the Steelers fans I know don't really care about the Browns.

P.S. I hope the Steelers go about 5-11. Time to clean house. Actually, it's been time to clean house for awhile now, but here's to hoping this is the year they can finally pull it off.

I delight more in the Browns doing well than the Steelers sucking...fortunately, both are happening. As far as the bold, that's absolutely not true about most Steelers fans here. They talk, and talk, and talk about the Browns. The reason a lot of Browns fans enjoy Steelers misery, is because there are so many Steelers bandwagon jumpers in Cleveland who do nothing but talk trash all year about "their team" even though they're born and raised in NE Ohio. It's pathetic, and it's only in Cleveland. Steelers fans elsewhere have always been relatively cool, especially in Pittsburgh, but most of them here are complete B-holes about it...always the ones who have no legitimate reason to be a Steelers fan (i.e. born in Pittsburgh, family from there...etc.).

And I've said since Tomlin took over that he was a terrible coach. He won a Super Bowl with Cowher's team. I hated Cowher, because he was a good coach. Tomlin? I actually like him, he's great for the AFC North. And don't get me started on Toddy boy...woof.

I'm, admittedly, not in your area and could not care less about either the Browns or the Steelers, but I am pretty confident you are wrong about this.  (BTW, I'm speaking generally here, not about you in particular, and I also acknowledge that it might be a little different IN Cleveland.)  This is very typical about fans of the worse team in a big rivalry.  They have nothing else to hang on to because their team is always bad, so they take solace when the rival is doing bad.  The fans of the better teams have a lot less energy to bother spending towards the other team.  I can find you an awful lot of Mets fans that despise the Yankees with all of their being, but I don't know any that care the other way.  The same used to be true for Red Sox fans - pre 2004.  (Not so much now though ;))

I also imagine that there are not too many Packers fans out there that worry too much about what the Lions or Vikings are doing either. (Right @cipher ?) ;)

Clippers fans rejoice when the Lakers suck, Lakers fans (tides may be turning tho) just thought the Clippers fans were cute.

I agree with your paragraph aside from the bold. I never said he wasn't right about the majority of fans, I just said that I don't feel that way.

Yeah that's what I see too. Cubs fans think the Cubs/Cardinals is a huge rivalry but I (as a Cardinals fan) never gave them a second thought. Sorry but somebody has to win more than once every 100+ years for me to take them seriously as a "rival".

As far as the bold, that's absolutely not true about most Steelers fans here.

You've polled the vast majority of them? C'mon. Let's not say stupid things. Your interactions are limited to those who are interacting with a Browns fan. You're not even an unbiased observer.

I said "most of the Steelers fans I know " at least.

The reason a lot of Browns fans enjoy Steelers misery, is because there are so many Steelers bandwagon jumpers in Cleveland who do nothing but talk trash all year about "their team" even though they're born and raised in NE Ohio. It's pathetic, and it's only in Cleveland.

That's probably closer to the truth of the matter…

And I've said since Tomlin took over that he was a terrible coach. He won a Super Bowl with Cowher's team. I hated Cowher, because he was a good coach. Tomlin? I actually like him, he's great for the AFC North. And don't get me started on Toddy boy...woof.

Cowher sucked too. To do what little he did with the talent he had…

Tomlin's been a massive disappointment.

Fair enough. I'm just basing it on the Steelers fans I know here (a ton) compared to the ones I know and have met elsewhere.

Yeah, Cowher probably should have won 2+ Super Bowls with some of that talent, but at least he was solid. Tomlin is just sad.

A ton of Steelers fans? So, what, like seven? Eight?

Just based off of current and former co-workers the number is higher than that. Throw in friends, family, and acquaintances and you're looking at probably 30+. Not a "ton" so to speak, but a large enough sample size...
