Counting OB I've had 6 on a hole before. It was the first hole of a shotgun tournament (#3 at Eaton Coutry Club) with OB about 7 yards from the right edge of the fairway. I promptly sliced three OB in a row before "parring" for a 10.

The second hole on my league course has OB probably 10 yards right of the fairway, I've put 4 OB there. This year has been really bad for that because I've developed a push as my main miss with the driver...

I guessed, and voted 3. I have know idea what the number really is. Might be more. After counting them on my card, I have no reason to remember any poor shots. I am pretty sure my "most penalty strokes on one hole" probably involved a water hazard. Also, I would think that after 3 penalty strokes on one hole, that perhaps that ESC thing might kick in, on that hole, assuming I was not playing in a sanctioned event.

carded an 11 once with 4 OB in a tournament qualifier. Then proceeded to miss the cut by 2.

I made a 14 once in a tournament. My drive ricocheted ob, then I hit it right rough with a 210 force carry. Went for it and thought I was money, hits the slope rolls in. Then take 1 more club and mishit it into the water. Then out of embarrassment I try to just punch out left with my 4 iron, didn't get it in the air enough and that went in the water. Now I'm 230 out with an oak tree in the way, I lay up then almost get up and down. I made 14 but not sure if I recounted that right.

sometime about 3 months ago, I hit 6 shots OB in a row!

Ended up shooting +13 on that par 5!  won't be forgetting that hole for a long time.. and hopefully I never repeat that!

You want to know the worst part?

It was the same round I shot a hole in one..

when ever things get bad, I'll always remember that they could be worst!

Well, you had to finish the round to turn in that card!

A "Hole in one club member", cool!

I've had three (sadly, more than once). One of the times was in three different "hazards" - lost ball into the woods right off the tee, second tee shot into a creek, third shot into the same creek further up (this was the 18th at Paxon Hollow in Media, PA).

I'm thankful that I'm not the only one that has quite a bit of Tin Cup in me.

All of these 3s were making me feel bad. Heck I've hit the ball either OB, lost, or short of clearing some water 3 times in a row more times than I could ever count up.

Ha!  There was definitely something in the air that day, because I ended up hitting 3 OB on a par 3 later on too.. I didn't mention it though because the OP was asking about the worst, and not all the instances..  I haven't done that since then though, so there is still hope!

I seem to be developing a little more common sense the last few years. Before that there wasn't a shot I didn't think I could hit even if I was consistently being proved wrong. ;-)

I'm pretty sure it's 4. I can remember taking 3 penalty strokes quite a few times, but I do recall one round where I dunked a few in a row but I don't recall exactly how many it added up to. Hell, maybe 5. :poo:

    • Can be out and up a little more. Not quite over-done yet.
    • Down the line and face on from today. Still feeling like I’m sticking the club into a hole in the ceiling above my right shoulder and then big loop inside to start downswing. That’s how it feels. Not how it looks though! Gotta keep working on this for a bit but I see a lot of progress. 😁
    • Day 5 (13 Mar 26) - Friday shootout cancelled- made it a practice round working from mixed tees. Plenty of up and down work around greens.  Best was a hole out birdie on the par 3 #5 hole - nice pitch and roll w/Pw from about 10yds off the green - dead center flagstick drop.  Much of round was focused on getting solid weight shift into lead foot.
    • Day 208 3-13 Worked on wrist arching and flow. First time hitting reall balls at a range in months. It was nice to see ball flight. Still not sure it beats my backyard practice station.
    • Three hole match - microphones on in the cart. It's fascinating listening to them talk about their shots and how they play them. I'm not normally a huge fan of the TM videos - they seem forced to me - but this one doesn't. It's also fun seeing their competitiveness over what on the face of it is a fairly meaningless 3 holes, but they can't help themselves.
