Yeah I have that one. The cell phone holder on the top can come of and does screw into a camera tripod, which is what I will do. You can also get those holders separately. I have a lightweight aluminum tripod bought at Target that I prefer now.

I thought that you wrapped those legs around your bag or push cart somehow??

I have, and may still do that for VLogs, but prefer using a lightweight tripod.

In bright sun the 5s is pretty good for swing video at 60 fps.  I have a Casio that does 240 and you can control the shutter speed.

I wonder how the Iphone does in poor light?  I take most of my video inside in the winter which can be a tall order.

Pretty good, in my testing. You'll get a little more shaft blur but even at 120 FPS it's pretty good. I'm looking forward to the 240 FPS on the iPhone 6.

  • 7 months later...

I've got 5 minutes a day and an iPhone  ...   right?

It's funny, currently- I'm mindful of yardages (trying to dial those in), I pay attention to some fundamentals but I'm not actively focused on practice at all - I've picked out an emphasis to try to improve my drive & wedge yardages, but it's been more trail and error based on feel and results - and the work actually comes on the course as I'm playing (which is a no-no if that's the only time, I'm working on it lol).  As I read someone who posted the other day, feel isn't so accurate....  I don't invest near the time I should to get better....

but I do have 5 minutes a day - I do have iPhone with a camera (i know I'll spend a little more reviewing feedback but still)......   I think I'll start recording some swings... who knows, I may post to the member swings thread.  I've enjoyed the TST community, but I'm missing a huge opportunity for improvement...

iPhone and 5 minutes a day...  yep, I like that..  It's reasonable, realistic...  It may help me with my May practice goals http://thesandtrap.com/t/81741/5-minutes-daily-practice-challenge-may-2015 ...

    • I had the D-9's a while back, thought the stock Wilson grips were rubbish.  I put Pure grips on them. Pure is now out of business but available on Golfworks.  Currently some colors in stock as of today. PURE Wrap Golf Grips - The GolfWorks PURE Golf's tackiest grip, the Wrap features a perforated wrap design and is ideal for golfers that prefer a slightly softer, more muted feel at impact.
    • If he had to hit over the bunker, I'm guessing he was further from the hole, although "in front of" implies the opposite.  If that's right, that may have been the right spot for penalty relief, a single PS.
    • Day 52. Trying to work on hard pan lie pitching in the rain in the yard.
    • Did you look up any Rules before posting here? What did you learn or find? You don't get to drop (or place) closer to the hole. 16.1(c) deals with relief for Abnormal Course Conditions in bunkers. You're granted free relief for: Since you say the bunker was basically entirely full of water, you likely wouldn't get complete relief, so for free (no penalty strokes), you are entitled to "maximum available" relief. If there's a spot in the back of the bunker away from the hole where the water is the shallowest, then you can drop there. If you don't like any of those options, you can take a penalty stroke and drop out of the bunker, behind it: You seem to have played from a wrong place (nearer to the hole) and thus likely should be penalized two strokes. It doesn't sound like a serious breach, at least.
