What do you all do for warm-up? I am finding it hard to get loose and warm with the temps outside. I do my usual stretching and active swings to get loose. I also do the stuff in the getting started video.

I typically do about 5 minutes of some dynamic stretching, things like air squats, lunges in place, arm circles, etc.

Then I take one of the clubs and start swinging slowly back and forth both right and left handed, with the radar on, increasing speed faster and faster as I feel more loose. I dont have a set speed I try to reach before I'm "loose" but typically once I start swinging the green club 90mph+ right handed that means I am pretty loose and ready to move into the protocols.

Sometimes it might take 4 or 5 swings to get up to speed, other times it might take 10+ warmup swings.

I do the same stretching and I do my normal workout warmups for my shoulder and rotator cuff. I stretch my legs and sit in the bottom of a squat while rotating on my ankles. And I do a chair stretch that I would just have to find an example of for my legs.  I then swing a normal iron for a little while and even take some swings with the heaviest super speed club. Then we start.

I just got the superspeed package with the radar. I started the intro protocol tonight. My best with the green was 106 on one, and 104 a few times. I noticed it felt like my upper abdominals were strained right away. Maybe it was because I had just eaten right before. I'll have to watch out and warm up a bit like some of you have said before taking such aggressive cuts.

I'll come back with my progress. Not like there's anything else to do with rain and snow every day and temperatures below freezing.

Tonight was my first time doing the protocol in 10 days due to weather, and was really surprised, hit a new  all time PR with the green club and it was in the last set of stationary swings at the end, not the step through swings.

I figured for sure it'd take a few sessions to work my way back up but doesnt seem like I lost any speed, which might mean the current speed gains I have made have become my new baseline which is really encouraging to see.

Don’t do this type of training immediately after eating. Sometimes I do things like that too, but it’s not worth it.

I've done the intro protocol for about a week now, 3 times in 6 days. Today was my third time and I hit 111 on one of the final swings with the green. I still feel goofy swinging on the opposite side, sometimes lose my balance and almost fall over.

I’m in 3 weeks. I’ve gone from 95 max the first day to 106 yesterday. I think warming up is very important too.

Nice job guys! Keep it up!

It looks like the temperatures are going to be 30+ degrees for the next 2 weeks so I should be able to get back into it on a regular basis now.

I got 140mph today with the step through green club and it was the first time seeing 140mph for me on any swing so I was pretty pumped to see that especially since it's been a good 2-3+ weeks since I've been able to do them consistently due to weather.

I just hit 3 weeks today doing the intro protocol. I had a few at 116 today and my highest was 118 two days ago. I've been staying pretty diligent, every other day or third day if I don't have time or forget. Hoping to hit 120+ next time. The opposite side swings are starting to feel better. I might have to try hitting some for real from the right side this year!

New regular swing PR by 1mph with  the green club, 135mph.

I had one with the blue club that said 137mph, but I dont quite believe that because all the rest with the blue club were mid 120s.

Tonight I focused on flaring my feet out and making sure I got a full hip turn and those definitely seemed to help with the speed.

What does that translate to as far as your beginning vs current swing speed with your regular driver?  So many posts it's hard for me to go back and ref that.

Beginning swing speed with driver was upper 90s to low 100s, now I'm 107-110 on average, topping out at 112.8 in my most recent Trackman session.

October 30th was when I started the intro protocol, so a gain of 8-10mph in like 2.5 months of consistent training and I will note that over the past 1.5 months I have only been able to do the protocols 1x per week at the most due to weather, but I haven't lost any of the speed.

8-10 mph is a significant translation in yards off the tee.

Several clubs better on the approach shots!  So I take it you recommend? lol

Yeah I'm excited for the weather to break so I can get out on the course and see what impact it has on my game.

And yes based on my experiences with it I recommend it as long as you purchase the swing speed radar too. I had the sticks months before I had the radar and I found it was really difficult to stay motivated and gauge my progress since I didnt know how fast each swing was.

This is a VERY interesting topic ….. I want to get into this at my advancing age (61) in hope of recapturing that old zing!!!

Weather has been an issue with me with the training. I've only got one session in during the last 10 days.

I swing inside my garage with one of the cars out most of the time, so I've been able to keep it up every 2-3 days. Latest session was 118, and I saw 120 on one of the step swings. I've kind of plateaued over the past couple weeks, so I might change up the protocol a bit and see if that gets me gaining again. Haven't measured swing speed with driver on the actual range yet. The weather has been terrible for most of January and February in Dayton, but starting to get a little nicer.

I started on the next protocol last week. My speed had definitely plateaued so I needed to step it up. The five reps for each side and kneeling set are good. It was starting to feel a little too easy towards the end of the intro. Still hitting 116-118 once or twice. Haven’t played yet, just hit the range a few times but the sky wasn’t clear enough to get any idea of distances.

I feel like the radar is imprecise too, like sometimes it will read me at 60 or 65. I set it up like the instructions say to. I did see something about club release point when not hitting a real ball. Maybe I should try new batteries.

    • Why wouldn't it have? It's not like you were playing it as a 145yd par 5 and made a 2 or something.  Or not like it was playing 50yds to a temporary green or something either.

    • I know you guys were discussing this like a year ago. But, ironically I just had this discussion with my brother-in-law. We literally just did one of these. I'd always used the "Slow-Cook, Rest, and Sear" Method. But my bother-in-law was convinced the "5-Min/lb, 500 degree" method was the way. So, we gave it a go. I have to say it came out great.  I have a 25 year old, electric oven, GE brand... Not sure if that matters, but it came out great. ... Of course we stressed that nobody was to open the oven.   I don't make these all that often so, I'm not sure if I can fully recommend one method or the other, because without doing a Pepsi Challenge, I'd say both ways come out great. 👍😁👍
