GC Morning Drive was really talking up Patrick Reed this morning.  I guess with Rory out of it and Phil being so inconsistent this year, Reed is the guy that's going to get the hype.  Reed moves the needle a bit in that he's controversial so it makes sense to push him given the current leaderboard.

Your definition of "moves the needle" and mine are apparently very, very different. :)

Either that or we differ on the definition of "a bit." I would define it as at least noticeable. :)

Also possible that your definitions of "Reed" or "in that" might differ as well.

I meant it as he moves the needle more than Harrington, Steele, Donald, Knox, Herman, Flores or Summerhays.  Poulter is a good heel during the Ryder Cup but not sure anyone cares about him otherwise here in the US.  Phil is obviously the guy they want to see get closer to the top but I don't get the impression they have much confidence in him to win.

This is on #3 (par-5) from Friday's round. Dustin Johnson hit his tee shot in the water. He is discussing his drop with the rules official. His next shot ricocheted off a palm tree back into the water again. After a second drop, he made it to the green and 2-putted for a double.

I'm with ya .... I find Reed to be pretty interesting. I don't know that many others do but I do.

I had a great day with friends and family today at the Tuesday Practice Round of the Honda Classic. We arrived early since I live about five minutes away. Sadly however, my phone died real fast. I was getting bombarded by texts all day long, and taking pictures and filming videos certainly wasn't helping things. But here's what I got. I really just followed Kaymer, Sergio, and Thomas Bjorn around. I never saw Fowler, McIlroy or Phil anywhere, but we left around 12:30, so maybe they got there in the afternoon.  Getting in early though was great. We basically had the place to ourselves for about an hour or two before people started to show up.     AppleMark AppleMark AppleMark AppleMark AppleMark AppleMark AppleMark AppleMark Damn it… I probably shouldn't have held the camera vertically for these videos. Oh well. They look better on my phone :-D  Following Kaymer to the 10th tee: Sergio and Kaymer teeing off. Sergio BOMBED his. Kaymer faded it too much into the right rough. This was some kid named Carlos Ortiz. He was playing with Kaymer-Sergio-Bjorn so I got this one of him. Kaymer-Bjorn pitch shots, rear view. Aaaaaaand, then I got nervous my phone was going to die, and I kind of needed it to work for the next few hours. All in all, it was a great day. So much fun. Sergio attacked a gator on no.17, hitting it on the nose with his sand wedge. Not even kidding. It was hilarious. Wish I got that on video.

Very cool! Weather looks gorgeous too that day

Anybody know if they are intending to try and get in 36 today? Or is that a fruitless endeavor and they're dinishing tomorrow?

I guess I was wrong. I see tee times now for round 4 later today.

Come on people (CBS?), give my boy Luiten some airtime as well. Best round of the day so far, and inside the top 10 now. 1st in GIR as well if I'm not mistaken.

Harrington's putting has been holding him back for quite a while...

Poulter 3 strokes ahead. Is it going to be his first PGA stroke play win?

And Joost just started his 4th round. Hope for some more airtime (or better: airtime at all).

Glad they listenend to me.

Phil just marked his 1st tee hit for the 4th round with a tee, then removed and cleaned and then placed ball back in not the same position in relation to tee in ground, as a newer golfer - I am not sure why or what was allowed there...

    • I get kidney stones. So 100 oz of water every day. Some nights I drink 32oz between midnight and 6 Am. Which means I dont sleep much.
    • 46 (9 over) Short game and putts were awful!
    • 46+40 for an 86. I just need to play 9 holes on the range before each round. 🤣🤣🤣
    • I don’t measure my intake either. I generally have a black coffee, a bottle of soda, some sweet tea at home, and anything in between is water. An ice cold bottle of water is one of my favorite things. It feels like an immediate refresher for my body. I’ll admit that I need to drink a little more though.
    • For such a nice membership, there have been some bad incidents in the past few years.  We had someone voted out a couple of years ago over something he did and he harassed the board members for three months until he moved out of the area.   Generally they’ve tried to do things like tournament handicaps and identify certain people who they know should be lower and adjust it somehow.  I can understand not wanting to go thru something like the guy who was voted out again i emailed the pro who forwarded it to the handicap committee.  They are going to see what can be done.  I walked someone thru what happened and they are going to nudge him to post the score from the match and see what he does.  Since he didn’t put anything in the electronic scoring past 13, based on how he played 14 and 15 plus having to take bogey on 16-18 for after he left, he should post 83.  We’ll see if it’s even higher,   Since he was really even thru 13, then doubled 14 and parred 15 my guess is he really shot 75 being generous and giving him 2 pars and a bogey on the three holes he didn’t play.    i shot 88, getting 16 shots for my course handicap which is net even and I lost on 13.  We do brackets where handicaps should be within 4-5 of each other.  Most matches only have 1-2 shots as a difference between players  neither of us posted the score yet.  There was something in the match play rules about whether or not to post your score.  I couldn’t remember if we were supposed to or not.  I don’t think he was going to post that, because even with his inflated score it would be the lowest score in his recent 20. Lucky I didn’t because they want to see what he does post and they don’t want me posting so he can try to calibrate his score.
