Man, that sux. Glad they cut the prick. Geno wasn't taking the Jets anywhere tho so this might be a blessing, as unfortunate as it is for him.

I haven't seen any details on why the guy hit Geno but my guess is Geno egged him on.  For such a crappy QB Geno has quite a chip on his shoulder (guess QB's have to) and I know his laughing off interceptions and fumbles hasn't gone over well with his teammates, especially those on defense.

Enemkpali isn't a small guy so there was no reason to sucker punch Geno and it doesn't appear anyone took up for Geno so maybe everyone felt it was warranted.

Ah, I don't know anything about him other than he's a terrible NFL QB. If what you're saying is true, win-win for the Jets.

From the news reports I've read, Enemkpali bought Geno a $600 plane ticket to come to his NFL combine (or some such thing) and Geno accepted the ticket but didn't show up.  Enemkpali claimed that Smith owed him for the plane ticket and Geno had promised to repay him but hadn't done so yet.  Enemkpali confronted him in the locker room about it, which was what led to the punch and Geno getting all his meals through a straw for the next 6-10 weeks.  From the accounts of people who saw it, Smith never swung at him and didn't hit back after being punched.

I wouldn't wish such an injury upon anybody, but it probably benefits the Jets in the long run.  Geno hasn't shown much of an indication of being their QB of the future, so maybe now they can move on from this failed experiment.

I've read similar and they're saying IK didn't sucker punch him which is what I kind of expected.  The fact that IK didn't get pounded also led me to believe Geno had done something to warrant the punch which turns out to be accurate.

I don't think there's a player on the Jets defense that is upset Geno is out for 6-10 weeks.  He's said all the right things to the press but either lacks the drive, the talent to improve or both.  If Fitz was 100% this would be a no brainer but given he's coming back from an injury the Jets are going to have to make a trade or scour the waiver wire for a backup QB.

With Breakable Bradford at the helm, the Eagles may want to maintain a little depth at the QB position.  Besides, Sanchez was about as successful as Geno Smith during his time with the Jets.

Well, that didn't take long.  The Bills picked Enemkpali up today off the waiver wire.

Really? Sanchez played in two Conference Championship games and I don't recall Geno ever playing in a single playoff game. Nor do I think he ever will.

Besides, If Bradford gets hurt it doesn't matter anyway. Kelly made the move because he knew the status quo wasn't good enough. If Bradford gets hurt again I might prefer that they give Barkley a shot.

The Jets were in 2 Conference Championships despite Sanchez not because of him.  The key goal for Sanchez was to not lose the game by giving up turnovers, he was never expected to win it.  Mr. Pick 6 was slightly better in his early years at not turning over the ball but he was never a good QB imo.  As for Geno, he's even worse than Sanchez was, neither belong in the league as far as I'm concerned.

At his introductory news conference last month, Buffalo Bills coach Rex Ryan declared "we're going to build a bully.

Since then he's signed Richie Ingocnito, Karlos Williams , Ronald Darby , that coach who punched his neighbor's kid in the face, and now the LB who punched his QB in the face.

As a Bills fan, I regret every one of these moves.

While he's not a Pro Bowler, Sanchez has proved that he belongs in the league. He was easily the best backup QB in 2014, which is worth something. Not everybody can be Aaron Rodgers but, if the Eagles played just a little defense last season, they would have been in the playoffs. They didn't fall short because of Mark Sanchez. They scored plenty of points but they couldn't stop a high school team.

While I am not a fan of his, I think Sanchez has been adversely, and disproportionately affected by that butt fumble thing.  He is no Aaron Rodgers, but I would view him in the marginal starting/solid backup QB level.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

This is Sanchez's biggest problem:

He is a smart guy and can be a very good game manager but then he tries to force things and gets out of his element. Doesn't know when to give up on a play and just live to play another down.

IMO, Richie Incognito was the victim in the whole Miami scandal.  He was victimized by an overgrown sissy who, if he truly didn't like what was going on (and that's not at all evident in the text messages between them that were released to the media), didn't have the balls to tell Incognito to knock it off.  And Jonathan Martin has since "retired" from the NFL after two years because he couldn't hack it.  There's no such thing as "bullying" between two full grown 300+ pound men who are NFL players.  The stuff that was going on in the Miami locker room was not unique in any way and you can't tell me it doesn't go on in virtually every other NFL (and college, and high school) locker room.  Not saying Incognito is an angel by any means, but the whole thing was grossly blown out of proportion and he got screwed in the deal.  I'm glad to see that Buffalo gave him a second chance.

Bullying aside, incognito is widely known to be a dirty player other players cant stand.

You clearly don't have any idea the relationship between a bully and their prey. In most cases the prey never stand up due to the fear of what might come if they do. Especially when that person has the backing of other people, or looks or actually has a leadership position on a team.

Your assertion there is no such thing as bullying between people of equal size is total ignorance. There can be bullying at any level. There are instances where women prey on men. It totally depends on the mentality of the person who is being bullied.

Honestly it's your type of thinking that perpetuates the bullying problem in America. Tell your opinions to the family that is suffering from their kid committing suicide because he was bullied. Bullying should never be condoned at any age against any person.

Well, Bradford survived this cheap shot from Suggs, right on his repaired knee. Stay healthy, dude!

I didn't see the play to call it dirty or not. I don't think a snap shot fully gives a complete image of the play. Who knows, he might have been shoved in the back by an O-lineman, or maybe he tripped.

    • Ok, so I’m still confused here. Are you saying I could have used the only available Spot in the bunker even though it was 6-7 feet closer to the hole?
    • Yes. If you choose to take the ball out of the bunker instead of taking maximum available relief… it costs a stroke.
    • I got another one today....Number 17. Par 5 that has water left and right on the layup. I smacked a drive down the left side and got a little lazy on the layup and fanned my 6 iron. With 112 to a crowned green I got it to 3 feet and birdie!  Only 5 and 15 is left for this year!
    • Maybe I didn’t explain this properly. Back and front can be confusing.  There was no place in the bunker that didn’t have 2-3 inches of rain water in it, except for a small spot on the slope nearest the pin. If I had dropped there I would be moving 6-7 feet closer to the hole. Since my ball was just inside the bunker, farthest side from the hole, I dropped one club length backward, which brought me out of the bunker. I could not have hit from that deep of water. Are you saying I would have had to take a penalty stroke due to rain water?
    • Day 550, May 5, 2024 Got a good hour in with a typical (for me) two-stick setup: pool noodle angled in front, yardstick on the ground angled 45° behind me.
