I find it very educatiional to see Wagner take the same routine every time he has to hit. Practise swing, breathe all out to relax and fire away! Take note to myself!

Is it Wagner's lowish stance making an optical illusion, or is his driver really short?

Ha ha, Johnny Miller thinks plumb bobbing works. Hell, why would you need to plumb bob with all that water, clearly it breaks to the pond, no?

If JBHolmes or GMac wins the Master's, watch the Srixon ball zoom in sales.  Titleist will take a real hit if golfers dare to think 'another ball might be just as good'.

Not gonna happen. How many Nike or Callaway balls have won majors over the past 15 years? A ton. It'll take a mass exodus from Titelist by the pros to hurt them.

I highly doubt that having JB Holmes or GMac win the Masters would put any dent into this market share they have.

Well, i guess Titleist does have the deepest pockets.

I doubt it. I would say Taylormade and Nike have more money than Titleist. Heck Nike was able to sign Tiger. I don't think Titleist had the resources or wanted to front that type of deal with Tiger. Titleist just does what they want to do and golfers still choose their golf ball.

A real hit to Titleist? No way. A definite shot in the arm for Srixon though. A very good ball that goes unnoticed/untried by a lot of amateurs. But any bump to Srixon just isn't going to have a significant impact to the death grip that big T has on the premium ball market.

Tiger and Phil winning 20 majors between them hasn't put a dent in the Titleist market and it's not like Keegan and Graeme haven't won majors.

Great point, if Tiger and Phil haven't hurt Titleist, JB and GMac won't even register on their radar.

Titleist has done a great job of creating the impression that if players weren't locked into playing any given ball, they'd all play Titleist. Might even be true, frankly. But that same brand rep doesn't exist with other clubs. Happens with a given model on occasion like the SLDR driver, but it's much more fragmented.

Seems like it is true. Every week they have about 80 or 90 balls in play while their next nearest competitor is 10-20.

I do wonder what their tee-up bonuses are though.

Also doesn't help that Callaway and Nike are always discontinuing models every two years to make room for new ones. If I was a professional I would stick with Prov1s just for the fact I know I won't have any trouble getting my hands on them next season or have to make adjustments for a new ball. One less thing to worry about.

    • Someone get Ted Scott on a plane!
    • I'll poke a dead horse here. I like chipping, always have. However, if its a relatively clean roll I'll putt. I choke down just a bit, in my head I'm taking a little flex out of the shaft seems to stay on line better because I usually need to give it some horsepower to get it rolling good. I had about a 20 yard or so chip in to save par the other night in league night. That was the end of my 4 hole even par stretch. All down hill after that.
    • This is legit fantastic. Love these guys   https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLgcoR9v/
    • This is a relevant topic, beyond the statistical nonsense. Generally, if I can use a putter and the grass is not long or uneven, I believe my results are better with the putter than another club.  Some of the green aprons, when dry, are virtually like a slightly slower green. There are other players who swear they get better results chipping from eerywhere other than the green. I suspect a short game guru has studied this and has a general recommendation.
