Not sure what to make of this:

Yeah, I uploaded the FoxSports Go App. I'm hoping that works like the Watch ESPN App. Guess we'll see come Thursday.

I agree with this. I can't understand why they are complaining. Everyone is playing the same course. Deal with it. You are suppose to be professionals not whiny little kids.

Greens already stressed and the poa annua will only make them bouncy as the day goes on. Can't imagine what they will be like next Sunday.

And what's up with two holes being interchangeable between a par 4 and a par 5 and players not knowing what they will be until they get there each day? If Mike Davis has already stated that 3 practice rounds isn't enough to prepare, why make it even more perplexing?

Uh oh!  Sounds like another Merion disaster in the making.

I think it could be more like Shinnecock than Merion. Given the weather forecast, I think you're going to see them water them pretty heavily tonight. The good news is it's supposed to cool down and that will help keep the greens from baking out.

If you're rooting for Phil Mickelson, I think the most positive sign is the fact this course will resemble Muirfield 2013 a lot. Looks just as brown and fast.

According to some they are because they are so short and small. I personally like both of them. Merion played soft in '13 whereas Shinnecock and Chambers Bay will play hard and fast.

I hope that's not Tiger's new swing. Looks worse than some of the hackers' swing. Just saying.

I like what Jordan Spieth said about the negative comments on the course. "Those that are saying bad things about the course probably aren't going to be a factor this week." From what I've heard, Jordan and Phil seem to be taking the most positive approach so far in talking about CB.

"Follow the dots: It's impossible to tell where the fairways end and the greens begin so the USGA has painted little white dots as the demarcation. That way, players know when they can pick up and mark their ball."

From recent pix, looks like the fairways are brown, hope not the greens too.

From what I've seen, it looks a lot like Muirfield did in 2013. Brown is usually good on links courses. Not sure if this is considered a "true links course" though. But a lot of similarities with how the greens and fairways look.

I'm super stoked about this course it looks beautiful would love to play it. I wonder if any inclement weather is scheduled to be in the area during the weekend. Some stiff winds could really make this challenging or should I say more challenging.

I think I'm gonna go ahead and put a 50 dollar bet on Timothy O'Neal to win.

    • I have an update… I don't have much of a response, because the fact that they would ADD the numbers for the lead and trail shoulder together… I mean, wow. I was giving them too much credit. Nobody would think to assume they were doing THAT. That's beyond comical. One of the biomechanists I talked to put it this way: "So if I squatted down and went from 180 to 90 deg knee angle, then I would say 180 deg range of motion because I have two knees?" I'd type more (maybe), but honestly, I'm laughing a bit too hard. 🤣 Update: Mini Manavian blocked me on Instagram, so I cannot see his post showing Bryson with about 50° of range of motion (with a driver) from P4 to P7, and 75° only if you go out to the mid-follow-through. What a terrible loss for me. 😉
    • Thanks, interesting to read. The swing is definitely very timing dependent. I hit it consistently I guess but consistently bad.
    • I've shot 91-74 on the same day before. Couple of years ago played a two round tournament on Bethpage Black. I shot 72 in the first round and 90 in the second. First round I played very well. Second round I played okay, but had about 5 shots that hit the lips of bunkers and bounced down into them. A couple of those wound up in footprints - I was unamused - and I failed to get them out. Anyway - lots of bunkers and my bunker play isn't great and then add a couple of footprints and me getting pretty tired and it added up to a lot.  Only you can really tell though what's causing the variance. It might be that your swing is very timing dependent and when it's timed well you play well and when it's not then it goes all over the place. In that case, some lessons and working on your swing could be the key. If it's more that you tend to feel like you hit it fairly consistently, but you have days where the shots come off and days where they don't, then that's more likely a course management issue. If that's what you need to work on, then you could read Lowest Score Wins and build a plan of attack based on that.  Rest assured though that a pretty big range from high to low is fairly common. Even PGA Tour players often have 18-20 shot spreads from best to worst rounds in a season. It's a common affliction among golfers.
