It would be great to hear from the group on how you use the GAME GOLF platform to analyze your game?  What steps have you taken to improve?  Do you use the stats, distances, etc with your coach?

Have you changed your practice routine, or course management relative to takeaways you've received from your data?  Our goal is to figure out what use-cases out there can help us deliver features to help players improve the fastest.  Any and all feedback is much appreciated.

I only have about a few rounds in and much of that has early season mishits. So far, I am getting a better idea of club distances. It would be nice if you could flag shots as mishits when editing your round so they could be optionally filtered out in the statistics. It would also be nice to flag shots as shot game since my wedges are all over the place distance wise.

Edit: It would also be cool if there were a data export option. I could throw this data into a statistics analysis package and go ultra nerdy.

I encourage users to go here and add three votes for this: http://myexperience.gamegolf.com/forums/236337-power-users/suggestions/6476041-strokes-gained-shot-zones-and-shading-options

Then I encourage GAME Golf owners to go HERE and add three votes: http://myexperience.gamegolf.com/forums/236342-feature-requests/suggestions/7730844-comment-on-each-shot-or-at-least-each-hole .

Just wanted to put these out there again. Please go there and vote. I think those are good features.

I imagine that per-hole type stuff is one of those things that will MOST help people determine their "course management." And if you only keep the last 20 rounds, that may not be enough: someone might have only 5 times when they employ strategy "B" on a hole and comparing that against the 15 times they use "A" may not be enough.

Honestly, I haven't found it useful at all to improve my game.  IMO, there are too many variables with each shot to make the available aggregated data actionable.  I think the only way to address that is by allowing more user customization by way of tags and filters, as I mentioned in post #42.

I'm going to put these up there as well as features that I would encourage everyone to consider voting on:

I noticed that I can buy a whole new set of tags for $50. Is there a way that I can buy individuals?

I talked to customer service last week. The answer is no. I don't think it would be feasible for them to sell individuals.

I guess in my mind I would happily pay $5 a piece for a missing tag.

Full sets of extra tags can be purchased at https://gamegolf.desk.com/customer/portal/articles/1736268

We are working on individual club tags for purchase in the near future (no specific date yet, but we're trying our hardest).  I'd suggest checking in the support center at gamegolfsupport.com in several weeks and search for "buy individual tags" and you'll find a link to purchase.  Suggested price isn't set in stone yet but looking close to the $5/tag range.

I played my first round with GG yesterday. It was interesting. It gave me some insights.

* My accuracy needs work.

* Don't go by Game Golf for shot average distances. GPS distances can be off by 10 meters at each location. They are approximate. They don't add up to my Bushnell. I nailed a 166 yd six iron on a par 3 a couple yds past pin high 8 feet right of the flag. GG said I hit it 155 yds. I checked online for GPS and distances and this is normal. Thing is if I had a series of these that said 155 yd avg and took that as gospel, and shot a distance of 155 with my Bushnell and selected 6 iron I'd could overshoot my target.

* I suck at FIR and can still par the hole as long as I keep my tee shot between the tree lines.

Are you using the device or are you using the app?

I haven't seen much variance in the GG yardage unless the tag mark is incorrect. If I hit a flag with a laser and stick it pin high when reviewing the round the yardage is what it should be. I'd question whether or not I didn't laser the flag but a spot on the green just beyond it if I was 10 yards off.

I'm using the device. I noticed this when I downloaded my round. I tag my club when I'm standing next to my ball. GPS readings can be a little flaky given certain circumstances and we're kind of out in the sticks. When I take a reading with my Bushnell Z-6 Jolt. I stand next to my ball and take it twice to make sure. I get the jolt for the flag plus the course has some special tape on the pins for laser rangefinders. A picture tells a thousand words, right?

Game Golf: 6 iron - 153 yds. Note that it shows the tee shot being hit from off the tee area. There were no temporary tees set. The hole was in the wrong place.

Game Golf: Edited. Fortunately you can edit the information.

    • Best drive I've ever hit: I will not be answering any questions about the rest of the hole. Or the round, for that matter.
    • I tried hybrids way back when TaylorMade introduced the copper orange Firesole Rescue, the clubhead having been made of titanium which was still relatively new even in drivers back then. I couldn't hit it well at all, and while the success of hybrids suggests that the modern ones must be quite good,  I'm perfectly happy with the 5, 7, and 9-woods.  Early ones of mine were Top Flite Intimidator 400s made by Spalding... and also made of titanium, now that I think of it.  I still have them in my basement. I do bag a driving iron, but it's a one-trick-pony that never sees fairway use.
    • The last time I played Maxfli balls, Dunlop was still making them. How long ago was that? Mostly, though, I used to play Top Flites (original 336 dimple model) when Spalding was still making them. Now I play the Pro V1x. Last time that I ordered some, Titleist was still making them. Let's see how long that lasts.
    • Once, on a course in Middleton, Massachusetts that I used to love but has since closed down,  I hit the wrong half of a huge, UK style double green.  Then I made the hundred foot putt.  Tough to  forget that one.
