Is it wildly premature to predict that Tiger will not only win this week, but at the Barclays next week as well? What if, after playing like garbage all year, he manages to win the FedEx Cup?

I haven't seen anything of the tournament, but how is the rough? Tiger's driving accuracy is not very impressive, hovering around 50% of the fairways. Still hits 80% of the greens, but it feels like a course where he can get away with poor driving.

not very rough... he hasn't been much more accurate with iron than driver off the tee... yes, with more penal rough, he would be having some issues... that being said, his iron play (other than off the tee on par 4's) has been basically immaculate... so he is taking advantage of the conditions... if he can get in unscathed, it'll be the best round of the afternoon..
...and Tiger eagles 15 to tie the lead.
felt GOOD to hear a real tiger eagle roar! :-D

Tiger, where the hell have you been the last 2 yrs?!

Driving it every which direction. Luckily this week you can get away with missing fairways.

Quote: Yes.

Maybe so, but it would so appropriate that after the "Tiger is in decline, and a new generation is ready to take over" narrative that has dominated 2015, he would suddenly be Tiger Woods again and end the year on a ridiculous hot streak. Oh, snap, the Stinger is back in the bag!

Learning so much on this site. Tiger just had 153 uphill to the green and he had a 9 iron in his hands. I thought "he's going to flight it" and he did.
Good to see him playing well this week. Continue to feel he'll get some of his game back and will rack up more wins and another major in his career. I don't think he'll ever get to the level of Jordan or Rory ever again, but he doesn't need to reach that level to win more tourneys and at least one more major. Maybe Zach Johnson level....that'd be good enough.

Ok, and?
Yeah that reminds me of the time Tiger was on top playing against a guy you never heard of before.Bob May?

Eldrick has an erection lasting over four hours when playing a bunch of C players on an easy course..If Jordan, Rory et.al, were in the field, he would be soiling himself ..

A win is a win. Especially if you have been struggling.  Confidence.  It is not easy to win on the PGA tour.  For all the talk about Jordan Spieth....u win would have thought he has won 10 times in 2015......it's only 4.  4 used to be a below avg. season for Tiger.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
