Maintenance crew is thinking... smartass. :-P

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

I'd prefer that to the random divots I usually see. Most people go to the range and roll their balls all over their stall until they've used every prefect little tuft of grass. I don't get it and apparently neither do they given the number of times I've heard "but I was hitting it perfect on the range". On  bad day when they haven't moved the ropes I often have to use a tee unless I want to practice hitting out of divots.

I'll take a 3-4 foot strip move over and do maybe one more before switching to a tee for longer clubs.

Dave :-)

One large divot is easier to repair than a lot of random spaced ones. I know the course I practice at prefers one large divot to several smaller ones for that reason. In fact a 1' square divot is really what they want when the golfer is done. They grow their own sod, and can cut a repair to fit. .

That's how they should look, not the bomb crater mess that you usually find. :naughty:

Earlier this season, I ended up with about a 12-18" long divot while warming up before a lesson.  The guy came over and the first thing he said when he saw it was "well, first off, your divots are way too big."  (He was not joking.)

    • Imma throw a dart in the dark as no one can tell what is happening once every fourth iron shot per your OP. This might sound counterintuitive but if ball position is too far back in the stance folks are known to throw down clubhead steeply. Could be happening. And yes, @billchaois not wrong; clubhead tends to bottom out wherever your pressure is. So slide forward (not sway), then hit.
    • Day 300 (!): did a stack session.
    • Day 24: Missed my weekly round due to a last minute little league makeup game this morning. Managed to get in some backswing rehearsals while grilling sausages for dinner, and then putted around the office/laundry room after dinner.
    • but I don't understand how that's possible you still want your head to stay back you don't want the upper body coming forward and plus I've tried feeling that and it made my fat shots worse and I then tend to pull and sky all my shots especially with driver because I get in front of it dont need force plates to see i finish on my left side
