We had the opposite happen at my home course. A groundskeeper took a couple of months to figure out how to operate the mowers. The bunkers still suck. It's a bit better now, but the first two or three months of the season were horrible.

Hire snipers and shoot every golfer that cannot play 18 holes in 3 hours, or less. I like to play golf. Not wait to play golf.

Actually, at my home course damn near everyone finishes in less than 3 hours. Yesterday my foursome finished in 2:40.

Occasionally we encounter a slow group of old, fat people. We just go around them. And return to play the skipped hole later.

Neither or both necessarily slow golfers. . .in fact, old golfers are generally pretty fast, and I know a bunch of well proportioned individuals who play pretty fast.

There's a 180 yard par 3 on the course I usually play that has trouble on both side and there is always a group or more wait on that hole (the worst was 4 group wait a couple of weeks ago). When there gets to be more than a one group wait the course should post a marshal at the green who can tell the golfers exactly where they sprayed their balls so they don't spend precious time looking for lost balls. The marshals on this course are half useless.

Add more water playing in summer in Florida is hot there should be drinkable water on every hole. My course has this, but every course should have GPS in the carts even if its just the little golf logix one that just gives numbers would save a lot of time for people who don't have range finders instead of walking around everywhere trying to find a sprinkler head, distance marker, or having to get their phone out.

I see this too but more of a setup issue than anything. Those moving the markers around and cutting holes should be careful not to make certain holes play too hard when there are going to be a lot of golfers on the course, weekends etc.

The mowing crew often moves the tee markers at our course and it's dumb what they do. If there is going to be 150 golfers out there on a Sat don't move the tees to the box with the longest carry over water, move all of them forward. Don't cut holes on slopes where the average golfer is going to struggle getting it close to the hole.

We had the end of season men's club tournament last Sat and Sun. They set the course up as hard as I've ever seen it and it made it tough for the people that played after the tournament. It was tough for me and I play there 80 times a year. IMO they should have immediately went out and moved the tee markers.

Better pricing on some snacks. $1.75 for a short Snickers Bar is a bit much. Divot repair signs around the 150 marker, and other areas that golfers frequent the most. Other than those two, I am quite pleased with the course I frequent the most. It's old school, and has matured nicely over the past 40+ years. The folks that work there are top of the line too.

Maybe the course marshall can also regulate and allow "hitting up" on the par 3s to save time.

Wouldn't take a minute to hop out of a cart and move the markers. I'd do it myself but by the time I am there the damage has been done. Marshalls are volunteers usually and most oblivious. We have a rotating cast. Half those guys can't break a 100. Just there for free golf. They have no idea how to manage a course.

4K or higher resolution webcams on every hole to watch pace of play. Possibly at the tee box and along the fairway and green?

That could allow for automated scoring as well by a pro in the shop!

ooo that would be a bit inpersonal I don't like being watched by the pro shop

My golf I play here In auburn isn't managed very well the course itself needs a facelift with landscaping maybe some flowers, better mown tee boxes and a little overhaul on some holes. The driving range has mats with holes in it and no tees but it works. They are a nice course as well high tech gps fancy clubhouse and good putting greens I mean the course is great but lack a little effort from it's manager and maintenance staff.

The one thing that can improve my home club is more members.  Our staff does a great job on a tight budget.  With more members, and more income, I'm certain that some of the small physical issues would be corrected.

I was reminded last night of one thing that good ole Kittyhawk GC needs to do. Obviously the idea of rangers at a city of Dayton course is pretty silly, but how about a a friggin starter on duty. Got out of work a bit early yesterday and hit the par-3 course for a quick spin. As it was I was thinking about cutting it to nine holes. Then I saw a man and three kids jump the 10th tee and that made it an easy decision. Hardly the first time some group decided to start on the 10th in front of me. I let the pro shop know about it. The lad on duty feigned surprise real well. "Isn't a starter out there?" he asked. Answer: "No and there wasn't one when I began either." He was putting me on and I knew it, but you got to let them know about this sort of crap.

2nd hole Par 3 at my course. Blue tee is 175 yards, and white tee is 158, and its honestly easier to play the longer distance. The tee area is in a bad location when it comes to the angles towards the green, and the large grown trees in the middle. 3/4 of that tee box is unused good grass, while the other 1/4 is barren dirt  because of everyone trying to play at the only angle possible to the green. Im not sure how much it would cost to re-develop the tee area, but I would be very interested to see it proposed and see the additional cost for it.

At my course in Tampa:

More water stations.  Having only two on the course at beginning of #5 and off to side of #13 is not enough.  I would also like to see the boxes so no one can mess with the water.

Club and ball cleaners on a few holes or the back of the carts for when you need to give one or the other a good scrubbing.

Better maintenance of the high grass areas.

We don't have marshalls, they would probably be a nice addition during the peak times on the weekend at least.

GPS in carts sounds like a great idea and I would be willing to pay a few extra bucks as well.

All in all, for what I pay on my home course, I like it a lot, they do a decent job of keeping it playable.

Living in Arizona, I just want drinking water available on every hole. Every. Single. Hole.

Nothing ****s up my game like being dehydrated, and if you miss one water fountain or tank, the next one isn't for a few more holes. It really takes the fun out of it when you're literally dying.

Roll the greens after they're cut - and don't be leaving the clippings on the green!

It makes my putts go offline and I don't need any help to have that happen.
