Played 20 holes around the par-3 course and shot even par.  Hit 19/20 GIR, and exactly 39 putts.  One-putted twice and 3-putted once.  Couldn't buy a putt outside 4 feet....  Broke rocks with a pick-axe all weekend.  That probably explains the lack of finesse.  Struck the ball well enough to score, just didn't make any putts...

Round 2 : Nothing to exciting...shot a 53-54 (107) which is avg for me, on a course I haven't played before.

8/14 Fwy - Finally got my groove back in my driver

1/18  GIR - Hey, it's an improvement on my goose egg from my 1st round....Ended up with Par

42 Putts - Again, an improvement on my 44 from Round 1.  23/19....I found I was skimming the hole always on the right side...might need to check alignment more carefully.

2 Penalties

1 par, 3 bogies...

Had to post this today because yesterday after golf I um...lets just say I celebrated my day of golf.

I had the day off from work and a buddy texted me at 8 am saying he needed a 4th....I said sure and went to the local state course to play...not a difficult course but still fun and shot a 42,43 for an 85 great day for me....I went home did some yard work,  showered grabbed a bite and went to my league game at a pretty difficult course (6700 yard 71.4/114) that typically eats me alive....shot a personal best (on that course) 41 for the best total 27 holes I've ever played....yea Me

Yesterday, I shot 81 at a course rated 72.9/135.

As I stated in another thread, I got paired with three senior citizens who moved as slow as tectonic plates.  One guys stood over his ball motionless for 20-30 seconds on every shot!!!  What's worse, this was AFTER all his pre shot routines, 4 practice swings!

Ended up being completely taken out of my game.  Shot 87 at a course rated 69/126.  Ugh!

Shot 42/42 - best round at this local course of my life - I know its cliche but I really could have broken 80 today (haven't YET)......had 4 3-putts, not acceptable!  But hit 7/14 Fairways, 6/18 GIR - that is much better for me, loving my new Mizuno Irons!  Last week I shot 88 at my home course with 40 putts, UGH........but I am happy with how my game is coming along this year so far!

I played terrible... First.... I hit two shanks.

The first shank was with my 50 deg wedge on an 80yd approach shot into a par 4. Center of the fairway - and hit it about 60yds right. OB.

The second shank was a few holes later... Again in the fairway - but this time on a par 5.  I'm trying to lay-up to ~ 75yds with a 5i.  BAM!  Dead right again... This time into a hazard.

Secondly... I got my ass kicked by a girl.  Very attractive / sweet girl who played college golf (recently graduated) and moved back home with her family while she attends a local graduate program.  She shot 77... I ended up shooting an 83.

It's not a fun day at the course when you play like a fool.

Broke 40 for the first time on 9 with a 37, obviously I followed up the back with a dreadful 44, keep it together! Still, 81 is nothing to cry about for me.

I had a roller-coaster of a round. Haven't been able to practice in a couple weeks, so I felt a bit rusty. I had, more or less, a really bad ball-striking day. Irons and woods were just bad. But my hybrids and wedges were awesome. The hybrids: * A power-fade hybrid that went about 230 linear yards. I was on the right edge of the rough with a tree blocking my path. I put the ball right past the tree with enough fade to keep it in the fairway. It hit and rolled up to the green, but unfortunately found the bunker. * A hard drawing hybrid that also must've run a total of 230-ish yards. A crappy drive hit a tree and came back. I took a drop from the cart path and put the hybrid up short of the green, and rolled it right over the back. * Another recovery hybrid on a par 5 where my tee shot went right on a dogleg left. Another power fade got the ball out of the trees and way up the fairway to PW distance. The wedges: * Two 20 foot chips that were left a couple inches from the hole. * A terrific recovery from the trees on a par 3. I had two crappy bail-out options, or the chance to thread the ball between two trees to aim at the green. I put the ball perfectly where I wanted it and managed to save bogey. * Another approach shot got went too far and got dumped behind a tree. I could either hit a really low running iron and hope I avoided the sandtrap, or open it up and try to flop it over the tree. I had a really fluffed up lie, so I decided to flop it. I put it right over the tree. * A par-4 rescue shot didn't go so well and ended up in a tree line. I had to take a 5-iron and hit a low runner up to around the green. It took off on the right line, low, when down into a bank that guarded the green, hit the edge, popped up and onto the green, and then rolled to 12 feet of the pin. That was what I wanted to happen, but the fact that it did was mostly luck. A lot of fun shots, but they usually were just making up for terrible ones. I think my final score was 16 over after 13 holes. Was probably hacking my way to a mid 90s score when daylight ran out.

42 + 40 = 82 at 71.9/136 course.  Was very windy for the first 7 holes.  But calmed down afterwards.

Greens were running at 11 as told by the pro shop cashier.

Yay I finally broke 80!! Well kinda. On the last Friday of the month the men play off the ladies . Shot 37 on the front and then 40 on the back for a 77. Pretty consistent, 11 pars, 5 bogies and a birdie. Only had 30 putts which was really the clincher. Finished with two bogies which was annoying. Was pin high on 17 (par 4) off the tee but thinned my chip through the green and then missed the putt, gah!! Kept driver in the bag most of the day, hit 3w and hybrid off most tees. Went for the par 5's and got close on two of them, still only 1 birdie though.

Off the normal mens tees tomorrow so fingers crossed I can keep my form going and have a proper sub 80 round.

Forgive me for the terrible formatting below. I'm using an IPad. Played a little better today. There are a few holes at this course that are in my head and I struggle immensely. Ugggh. I don't know. I'll figure it out.

I played the white tees on the front nine at Whispering Woods with my older friend Dan.

1: 3W to fairway, popped up a bit, 6I to green, two putts. E

2: 8I to 15 feet, just missed putt. E

3: Driver down middle, 4I to green, two putts. -1

4: Hybrid to good spot, lob wedge to green, two putts. -1

5: 3W pushed a bit, LW to rough near green, chip, tap-in. -1

6: 6I floated a bit right, sand to 10 feet, missed putt with wedge. E

7: Driver down middle, 6I to back of green, two putts. -1

8: 3I to middle of fairway, 4I to front of green, two putts. -1

9: 3W up middle of fairway (finally hit one good yay), PW from 114 pulled back off false front, putted from fairway 50 footer made. -2

I teed up from near the blue tees a few times. They seemed too far up. Rating and slope are 34.7 / 136.
