My best score yet, a 93. Two GIR, my only three putts. If I didn't laugh I'd cry.

So close to my first sub-90 round today but a temper meltdown on the 10th and 11th cost me. Shot a 90, 40 Stableford points. Very happy considering the weather was very windy today and I shot 93 yesterday in optimal conditions.

Monthly medal play today, outward 9 of 44 and then returned in 39!

Sooooooo frustrating when you know you have a good round in you somewhere

83 - 15 = 68
3rd in class, lowest gross as well and as a bonus was cut another 0.3

5 over for a 77 today...
best round of the year so far...
just plain fun... wasnt even playing too seriously...
shoulda been 2 strokes lower but i lipped out a par putt and a sure birdie...
driving was fun today... only missed 4 fw's and none were too bad off the fw...
approach shots were an adventure... 6 girs...
chipping was money except one stupid par3...
putting was enormous besides the previously mentioned lip outs...32 putts...
only had 4 really long 2 putts... the rest were all inside of 8ft... if the greens were in better shape(nvm no excuses... lol)
im happy with it
RUSS's avg drive - 230yrds and climbing

easy 76 today, which probably should have been 71ish. at least 4 or 5 bad lip outs and a mysterious lost ball

finally fixed my chipping. you would be shocked what just adding a little more hinge will do for your chipping consistency.

Best to date....76 on a par 71. Nine pars, 2 Birdies, and one lost ball in the water. 11 fairways hit, 7 GIR on front nine and 5 GIR on the back. Game is a little easier when you play from the fairway instead of the rough or behind some tree's

Shot an 84 today. Had some great putting. Just a few blow up holes kept me from breaking 80 today. Ah.

I played Saturday (9-12-09) for my first time really ever. I never have been into golf too much, but am now. I'm the kinda person that goes all in when I get into something. So I got some nice 4-9 Irons but everything else is very old and hand me downs.

Played at Edwood Glen in West Lafayette, IN
Shot a 99.

Played on Sunday 9-13-09 and shot a 110 much worse course though difficulty wise though.

I'm still happy for only going to a driving range about 4 times

In my bag
Burner 10.5* reg

50 + 47 = 97. Pretty sad, but good enough to win the finals of match play. I had the pars when I needed them!

I shot a "blistering" 97, 51/46.

The whole round was one big cluster.........you know what.

I hit three in the water on a par 4 for a niner on the hole.

I had a snowman on another.

A total hack job!

I'm down to a 10 handicap. At this rate, I'll get to scratch at 90 years old!

after a slew of 94's I decided to back up a tee box (400 yds farther) and shoot 90!

I usually screw up the back nine, but dropped a 43 (par 37) on it today. front 9 wasn't great. Had 6 pars (4 on the back 9). Putted great (had 8 one-putts) and 30 total.

Even though I did not break 90, I am still quite pleased.

After hitting a brick wall with my game (been shooting high-40s) I managed to shoot a 41 in today's match. 4 GIRs, 3 pars, 6 bogeys, 19 putts. Putting could use some work (obviously) but I'm very pleased and this is a big confidence booster.

    • Birdied #13 at Quail Brook, which is new. Blocked tee shot right which ended up being fine because I didn't hit it well enough to reach the fescue. Had 110 to the flag and was ready to hit a 3/4 GW to it (even tagged the club) but felt the wind pick up behind me so I decided to club down to the SW and hit it to 4'. Lipped out a 15-footer on #17 for birdie for a tap-in par that also would have been new.
    • I've had a couple of good shots since the last time I posted, 1 a 90 yard approach that I manufactured with my gap wedge that I knocked to about 18 inches, 1 a ~140 yard 8 iron that I got to about 3 feet (pictured), but this week my best shot was a 60 yard pitch. It wasn't anything special but I did hit it out of a divot, so that's what I'm more proud of. Plus, i didn't really have any memorable shots this week.
    • Just a  follow up, I had the best lessons ever on gears with the best instructor! Wish I would’ve made the drive earlier in the year but put it together during a golf trip. Gears was incredible to see your swing in 3d with all the necessary data. I’ve had very few formal lessons in the past and a couple online but nothing compared to working with Erik. He made it  very comfortable and relaxed, patient with all my  questions and showed some swing comparisons of pros swings.    Our main focus was getting the pelvis to move in a better pattern and when he first pushed on my hip with that pvc going back it was like a “wow” moment. And to see the affects in real time just made it quicker to adapt and learn how to find it again, however, even without gears I’m sure it would’ve been an awesome lesson..it’s just nice for some players to see the facts, no debate… At the end of the 1st session I was shocked at the video seeing my pelvis move better, hips open, no early extension. I was literally like I can’t believe that video capture is me! I’m glad I had a second session the following morning, just to reinforce the earlier ideas and work on the next piece to complete the movement, and we still had plenty of time to mess around with lower priority ideas for later. I left that afternoon armed with a practice plan, he took extra time to show me what to look for on my own video and I got a copy of LSW. We’ll continue on evolvr for checkups until another road trip for sure! I also just ordered the stack system with his discount code to work on some speed training as well.    Just wanted to share my appreciation for all Erik’s help and anyone finding there way here like I did over the winter to give it a try!
    • Day 8. Did a bit of setup and backswing work but hip is not ready to swing yet.
