No, No, V, it was a "birdie" and to halve the back nine and one of my greatest greenside shots... And it will probably be talked about forever at NewPort Cup events in the future.

I know the timespan of when the ball went off the club face and landed ever so softly on the green, then rolled so very, very slowly across the green may have seemed like only a few seconds for everyone, but that special time for me, it was like a lifetime in super-slow motion, for ever and ever.

That's what I call a "Kodak Moment" @iacas  just like the shot of mine you and Mike missed on hole 5 played from the water hazard which I almost holed out....

There are no friggin Kodiak Bears within a gazillion miles of Moon Valley....

Sorry man, that was just so precious. Hey, when I die, let's just say it would be a dagger I wouldn't mind dying from.

I think we should send the cup to Jack Nicklaus for a day too. I heard he chipped on the last day in the last match on the last hole to 'save' the cup. Oh wait, was it some one else??

Who said he was referring to you ???  :-)

He's my buddy, great co-pilot during Newport Cup. I'd still be looking for MV if Kyle wasn't there giving me directions.

Just to get ahead of things and get addresses PM'd, who is next for the cup? Another Red member? I believe the next closest member is out in SoCal? Captain @mvmac who do you recommend?

Im headed out for a round now, so I wont see this til later this afternoon.

Yes, we'll do the red team first.

Next closest to you would be that hermit Barrett, then we could just loop up the coast to Mike, me, Colin and then Michael to finish off the red team.

A West Coast Team photo would be cool. Maybe you guys can get a golf outing arranged for a Team pic.

A nice sunny day would warm the hearts of us here in the cold winter areas dreaming about playing golf in the warm sun.....

    • Day 69. Few mins working on standard putt length followed by impact technique practice. Got to what I think was a good place, took a 10 min break and came back but wasn’t able to repeat it.
    • No entiendo! Sorry, language barrier 😉 Came back home and numbers are in... I messured 2 fingers from 3 and 9 feet from the ground, from standing up and kneeling.  The clear winner is kneeling. It respected perfectlly the 3 times less "break" from 9 feet to 3 feet. Standing tall gave more break than needed on shorter putts by a big margin and at ball heigth is closer but not exactly rigth on the lower side. This is because, despite the eyes are at ball heigth, the extended arm changes the distances a little bit. The longer the arm, the taller you can be when usign your fingers and the shorter it get closer to the ground messure. If you aim with your fingers inside 10 feet don't belive me. Do your own test and see how it goes and make your own conclusion to help your game.
    • Day 21 (22 May 24) - hit a few PW in the backyard….making some easy pitches, bump and runs…
    • Yeah I typically use it as a rough guideline to get the general direction of break and the amount.  I'd say about half of the time I don't even use my fingers, I just feel the slope to get the percentage and then pick my spot based on that. I've practiced it enough too especially inside 20 feet I'm usually pretty close even without my fingers. Part of it depends on how confident I am in the read with my feet. If I'm certain it's a 1% then I'll do the finger, but if I'm not exactly sure on the read then I won't use a finger and rely on a combination of feet and eyes.
    • Little bit of practice today. Nothing major, just a bit of work on the clubhead at A4. Feel is the backswing is all shoulder turn while keeping the club in front of me.   Not working on anything in particular beyond that. Club was across the line pretty hard when I first started. Haven't kept up with the stuff I was doing earlier in the year. I honestly think I liked the swing from March better. Not going to worry about it now, since I'll have new stuff to work on soon. I actually meant to map out shot zones with my Mevo+ today because I feel like I've lost some of my distance control on the course but I forgot to charge it so it didn't happen. I worked on short game stuff, instead. Standard release 2 pitch to no particular distance. I apparently have no concept of how far the club goes back because I swore that was parallel, but it's clearly not. It's not even to parallel in the practice swing. A throwback to an old challenge: Messing around for fun:
