Since it is the Holidays on the Tours, I am going to watch some of the following tapes to satisfy my "fix" for golf (remember, though, that I am NOT a golf addict---I am a golf enthusiast): Shell's Wonderful World of Golf (The Hawk vs. Slammin' Sammy, Jimmy Demaret, Champagne Tony, Roberto DeVicenzo, and Payne vs Nick Price),  the Sybervision tape of Al  Geiberger's great swing, the final round of the 1989 Nabisco at Harbour Town, when Payne shot a course record 29 with birdies on the first 5 holes and an eagle 2 on #9 (my son and I were there!), the final round of the 1999 US Open (when Payne made THAT putt to WIN) and all 4 Majors for this year. LET IT SNOW!!!!!

You're on a roll, my friend. Welcome back to TST! I was just starting to get the sense that many were going into golf hibernation with slightly fewer posts here, but maybe this warm spell is a last gasp before the snow sets in for the season. Anyway, time to get some coffee to match your enthusiasm!

Thanks for the post. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family! You are correct----I am FIRED UP!! I had 3 cups of coffee by 8, and I usually have 1. Here are some other factors; I LOVE Christmas and New Year's and Festivus (of course), I had yesterday off and do not work again until Sat.., the temperature is 70 and I am playing golf in a little bit, before that I will stop and have a Utica Club draft, I am alive and healthy, and I LOVE GOLF!!

Thank you for the hearty welcome! Right now, my family is watching a Harry Potter movie (do not ask me which one). I am finishing "The Walter Hagen Story" by The Haig, himself. Next is "Down The Fairway" by Bobby Jones and O B Keeler----one great read. When not doing golf, I love Sherlock Holmes-----the books and the classic movies starring Basil Rathbone (what a great name!

Kudos to you! I love golf (I'll have played 242 rounds in 2016 by 12/31), but where does it say that I have to watch something golf-specific 52 weeks a year? I'm not sure I'm up to learning Spanish during the off season, but I'm enjoying playing with our grandkids, watching some movies that I DVR'd months ago, and...oh, yeah... playing golf.

I dont miss tv golf during their time off.  That's probably because I dont watch much tv golf during their tournament season. I will throw a DVD golf movie in from time to time. Other times I might watch a golf instruction DVD for reminders. Most of those are on the short game.

When not watching golf stuff, I will watch scifi, or old westerns.

In 2016 I will watch most of the Masters, USO, and The Open majors. I like those three for different reasons.

Now that I think about it, I dont watch that much tv as it is.

Old Westerns----like The Searchers, Gunfight at the OK Corral, the Westerner, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, She Wore  A Yellow Ribbon, High Noon?   I regard all of these as classics and worth watching again, and again.

I've been in hybernation. Usually am once the PGA Champ. is over, it's football season for me and I'm outta here. But with football season winding down, looking forward to golf season slowly getting started back up.

I've been watching reruns on The Golf Channel and Ohio State basketball games.  My buckeyes have been a little rough to watch this year but they did beat Kentucky so maybe things are turning around.

Old Westerns----how about "The Plainsman" starring Gary Cooper and Jean Arthur?

One more Western-----"Stagecoach"

Today, TGC showed a replay of the 2015 Open Championship. I forgot that Marc Leishman got to -16 with 3 holes left. He then made a bogey to finish at -15, good for a tie with Zach and Louis!

First rule in Hawaii, play your golf in the morning, the wind is usually MUCH heavier in the afternoons.  Second rule, get spam musubi off the bev cart for your breakfast....YUM!

We just watched a British series call Broadchurch on Netflix. Started watching season 1 and couldn't stop...saw all 8 episodes over a couple days, then watched season 2 over the next 2 days. We could see why it won a bunch of awards in Great Britain. If you have Netflix, it's worth a look.

My dream is to play golf in Hawaii. I am envious of you!

And Loco Moco after the round!

TV is in the dead zone this time of year. Football playoffs are OK, but other than that, regular programs are dull. Thank goodness Kapalua is this week. Just the scenery makes it worth watching. What makes it worse is how it gets dark early. During the summer, the TV doesn't go on until after dinner. When it's dark at 4:15, there is no outside stuff to do, so it goes on earlier.
