Nice par save for Jordan at #6.

It seems to me Jordan's ability to putt and drain 8 footers even after a poor chip shot will get under the skin of his foes to the point where it causes them to press. That could be a career advantage for Jordan. What will be interesting is if Rory or someone like Day can find a way to get under Jordan's skin somehow.

I think the thing that might annoy me if I were Rory would be the amount of breaks he's had. Sure, Rory had one on the fourth as well, but Jordan's had 4 wild tee shots now, all of which have still given him a good look at the green. Annoying if, like me, you're pulling for Rory...

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

Ok is #7 really that hard a fairway to hit or is Jordan abnormally lucky? I mean Jordan points his driver out and the announcers moan and groaning stating slice and it ends up just in the rough. I mean it definitely went right, but hell it wasn't that terrible.

Commentators on Sky were saying it either hit the patrons or a tree and bounced back. Jordan has his share of luck...

Brandt with a lovely chip-in on #8.

Good lord. I swear there are trolling Rory haters in the fans that are tossing Jordan's ball into better positions.

Not quite a Maltese Falcon for Rory on #7, as he was quite far from the hole for his birdie attempt, but not a great three-putt either.  Jordan with a nice bogey save too.

The thing that is a scary is it seems Jordan has the ability somehow to win without his A game. Not many other players apart from Tiger that could do that. With Rory's suspect putting, I don't think he wins w/o his A game.

I thought DJ and his high ball flight would struggle this afternoon, but he's holding it together. He may be one of the few players who can attack 13 and 15 in these conditions; maybe he can finish the day in red numbers.

Kevin Na having a good day.

That's not Kevin Na its Jordan Speith. They just play at the same speed and take the same number of false starts.

Agreed. And Rory does not have his A game today.

    • I totally agree with this but beginners are not good players that can adjust to almost every club setup.  A ping certified fitter, ex pro that plays at my home course, told me that the idea of the fitting in this case is to give the player the clubs that are at least suited for his body type in general. (body, arms, hands, strength, speed, etc) so he can go an play or have lessons with clubs that are not perfect for him but close enough. From there is up to the player to come back for another fitting in the future in case he feels his current clubs are no longer suited for his new swing/mechanics.  So.. I vote basic club fitting then lessons.
    • Okay, so my children and I got into a heated debate at the dinner table last night.  We were discussing making Christmas Cookies and got on the topic of what is the best cookie.  I personally think the Oatmeal Raisin is the best. My kids mocked me. "THAT'S AN OLD MAN COOKIE!"  Seriously? Does anyone besides me love the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie?  And if not, what is the best cookie?

    • Day 3: 12/12/2024 Okay, so I've already put in about a 1/2 hour of mirror work on my priority piece which I've nicknamed PPJ. The first to P's are starting to feel less bizarro but the J is still too late. As of now, I'm still thinking about it too much. So, although I'm anxious to hit balls, I'm sticking with the mirror work for another day or two. Then I'll move to the garage net.  I set up a small station right outside my office so every time I go in or out I can do a slow-mo PPJ in front of a mirror.
