The Congressional committee investigating Clinton was about Benghazi. They found nothing. The GOP had cut funding for embassy security. Congress of course won't take any responsibility for that.

Comey had to follow the law. The law was written in 1917. It's up to Congress to change the law if they want to exclude criminal intent.

If Clinton were still with the State Department it would be up to President Obama to handle disciplinary action... such as ask for her resignation. Clinton proactively resigned. Probably a good political move for her rather than wait for all this stuff to happen while still in position. It stopped the GOP from demanding she be fired which is about all they could do. John Kerry is Secretary of State now.

The GOP is just so butt hurt right now that this thing didn't go their way that they're probably going to open yet another investigation into the Attorney General instead of taking care of the needs of the country. They've essentially admitted that the Benghazi hearings were a witch hunt. It is this sort of thing that is the reason that Congress has only a 4% approval rating among Americans.

I see Clinton as the lesser of the evils running. Trump is the second coming of Benito Mussolini.

Comey followed the law and I don't think he's biased or was influenced by Obama or Clinton.  That said, HRC is guilty of all the things she's accused of, she's not getting charged criminally because they can't prove intent.  Her poor discretion and refusal to follow the specified rules for handling sensitive and classified documents should disqualify her from having access to such documents in the future.

Comey testified that Clinton lied to the public and to the FBI in certain instances which in itself is worthy of an investigation.  This is not the first time the Clinton's have been investigated and if not for key witnesses mysteriously dropping dead at convenient times they might be in jail right now.

Benghazi was not a witch hunt, again she lied numerous times about the series of events that resulted in our citizens dying.  She called it a protest when she knew and communicated to her daughter that it was a terrorist attack.

Hillary is a angry, mean spirited person who has zero personal integrity.  She has demonstrated throughout her political career that she will do whatever she likes and has no issue lying to the public to save her own ass.  She's not poor, never been an immigrant or daughter of an immigrant, never beenin a helicopter that was fired at in hostile territory but has been caught numerous times lying about her life of poverty, immigrant parents and being shot at.

She wouldn't even be in the running for POTUS if she weren't married to Bill and a woman.  The Democrats handed her this nomination by only having a admitted socialist challenge her, sadly it almost turned out to backfire, like Brexit, but the Democrats had it rigged with Super Delegates just in case.

It's sad that with of all the smart and better qualified democrats in office right now, Bernie was the best that they could find to run against her?

Hillary represents all that is wrong in this country and as much as I dislike Obama and GW, I'd take four more years of either of them before I'd vote for Hillary.

Well ... what he said was "security or administrative sanctions" for anyone else. Not criminal charges.

I guess the only real upshot of all this will be whether this instance of H.C.'s gross negligence makes any difference come November.

The amount of free passes this woman has gotten over the years is incredible.  Benghazi and the server thing would have torpedoed a male politician's career in a day but Clinton keeps on rolling around like nothing happened.

GWB had 9/11 on his watch.
GWB sent thousands of young men to their death based on a lie!

"We found the weapons of mass destruction. We found biological laboratories. You remember when Colin Powell stood up in front of the world, and he said, Iraq has got laboratories, mobile labs to build biological weapons. They're illegal. They're against the United Nations resolutions, and we've so far discovered two. And we'll find more weapons as time goes on. But for those who say we haven't found the banned manufacturing devices or banned weapons, they're wrong, we found them." -GWB  May 29, 2003

"It is now known that the Bush administration had full knowledge, from their team of independent experts on May 27, 2003, that these labs were used for nothing more than filling weather balloons with hydrogen"

GWB was still re-elected to a 2nd term!!

politics loves 2nd to 10th chances!

Apparently people don't understand how the law works. People just see what they want and declare what they want. They don't even read the statues. They don't have the depositions available from all the people interviewed. They don't have all the evidence to review. They don't have the emails to review. People get to sit behind a computer screen and make judgments off flimsy assumptions.

Just because criminal charges were not brought against her doesn't mean she didn't do something wrong. She got slammed by one of the most respected individuals in the FBI. A person who was approved by the Senate 99-1. Someone who has a good reputation from both Democrats and Republicans over his exemplary career as a civil servant. I am inclined to believe him.

Yea, when this guy looks at all the evidence available to him, and the testimony people gave under oath. He has to make the decision by how the law is written.

I'm not much into politics, but those things don't strike me as anywhere near equivalent.

9/11 happened TO the country. The war that resulted after and the "WMD" stuff was thought to be factual information at the time.

HRC actively "did" the things listed above. She "did" the Benghazi thing. She "did" the email thing. They weren't done "to" her or were a collective decision in response to the best available info.

Heck, 9/11 was planned for years. It would have happened whether Bush or Gore were in office.

The truth is likely that everyone here is trying to force the narrative to support what they already think. @Elmer is doing it, @newtogolf is doing it, etc.

That's why these types of discussions really serve no point.

The WMD thing was known to be bogus within GWB's administration, at the time they were pitching the war to the public. I forget if it was Rice or Powell that presented to the UN, but they knew going in that their presentation was a lie. Cheney knew he was lying on MTP when he went on there to sell the war. They all knew they were lying to the public and the press, about the existence of WMDs.

And... what does this have to do with the "FBI on Clinton"...??

This is patently and demonstrably false but thanks to a dishonest media it is the narrative that came out of not finding the WMDs.

Hussein used WMDs on his own people (Kurds I think) in the 80s, he had em.

The UN slapped 14 resolutions on Iraq, all of which they violated.

The UN was in Iraq inspecting facilities and Hussein was not letting them in to those facilities.  Why wouldn't he if there were no WMDs?

This was the basis for Iraq's invasion, along with the fear that terror training camps were also active there.  The Bush doctrine said take the fight to them, better there than here.  I agreed with it as did a vast majority of Americans at the time.

The UN sanctioned it, more than 100 countries joined the coalition, and Congress green-lighted it, including Hillary.

Hussein somehow managed to slip them over the Syrian border to Assad, who later used them on his own people.

The point was that GWB actively ignored intelligence briefings, things happened as a consequence and he still got re-elected.
For everyone who declared that Hillary should not be elected because of Benghazi or emails fails to remember that political memory is short.
But I think all the opinions, narrative or facts will not be changing anyone's minds anytime soon!

    • I have been debating getting a launch monitor of some sort, if only so I can re-figure my shot zones (I haven't actually mapped them in years) and also to practice distance wedges at home.  I have to see if this works with either my current setup, or what my setup would be if I move it to the garage.
    • Day 48, June 23.  After work today, I took 25 minutes in my practice room;  6-iron, same everything as yesterday except the time and count.
    • Well, this is interesting.  I think we discovered a few months ago that I haven't been following professional golf in a while (my confusion about Scotty's footwork confirmed that), so at least as I aim to follow a bit more I'll get something new to learn with all of you.  My very quick read of Erik's summary makes me think this new Challenger series fits somewhere between Korn Ferry and the Championship (not Champions, but I know I'm going to make that mistake a few times if I'm not careful!).   My recollection is that there were already second-tier events among the PGA Tour;  the Bob Hope didn't have the same quality of field as the event at Riviera (whose current name I forget, although now that I say that, I realize the Palm Springs event hasn't been called the Bob Hope in a few years either).   With the absence of the FedEx (if I'm reading that correctly), does that mean no more FedEx Cup at all? Hopefully I'll have time later in 2026 to sit down and see what we're in for in 2027, where one of my goals already is to follow more professional golf.
    • The highlights as I see them: Championship and Challenger Series The creation of the PGA Tour and the PGB Tour, in the words of Joel Dahmen a few years ago. They're calling them the Championship Series (23-24 events) and the Challenger Series (20+ events). Both run February to August. They feel this will achieve three things: increasing the consistency and quality of fields across the season creating a clear system for players to earn and retain status and delivering a more structured and competitive experience for fans and partners—all in an effort to strengthen meritocracy. Championship Series Structure and Eligibility The 23-24 events includes the Players, majors, season-ending events, and the Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup. These will be 72-hole events with a 36-hole cut to the top 65 and ties and purses of $20M+. 120 players without an alternate list. 90 players (roughly) from the previous year and 20 players promoted from the Challenger Series. Full eligibility will be finalized later this year. Sites (cities) to be finalized soon, but 10 of the 15 courses have already been determined. Postseason: includes retention and relegation and concludes with match play. The Tour Championship will also be played across a rotation of prestigious courses. Challenger Series Structure and Eligibility 20+ events. Running concurrently. Will feature players fighting their way back to the Championship Series or players graduating and on the upswing from the Korn Ferry Tour. Many of these events will be current PGA Tour courses. About 7 of the Challenger Series events will be during off weeks for the Championship Series with elevated purses and visibility. Purses of at least $4M, with cuts similar to the Champ series. 144 player fields. Competitive Fields for Both Series Players will be eligible for only one series at a time: Championship Series Players are not eligible for Challenger Series events. Championship Series members will have a known schedule with all events having the same eligibility. Players and Majors will have their own eligibility criteria. Championship Series players don't have to play all events. This begs the question about, say, the Canadian Open, and other "home-town" events that players might want to play, even if they're Challenger Series events. Will releases be granted? Promotion and Relegation At least 90 players will be retained in the Championship Series, and 20 players will be promoted from the Challenger Series each year. Battlefield promotion for two-time winners from the Challenger Series. Players relegated from the Championship Series will have a "last chance" opportunity to retain status, or will go to the Challenger Series. Criteria will be finalized before the start of the 2027 season. Points System New points system (not FedExCup points). Separate points systems for the Championship and Challenger Series. Elevated points in the Challenger Series for off-weeks on the Championship Series. More details tk. Elevated International Events in the Fall The fall schedule will include a limited series of elevated international events with top players from the Championship Series, with the intent to deliver in partnership with the DP World Tour as part of the Strategic Alliance. Last Chance Series The Tour will develop a “last chance” series of 4-6 events in the fall, with a limited number of spots on the Championship Series available for top finishers. Eligibility will include players relegated from the Championship Series, Challenger Series players, and other categories to be determined. Q-School continues, as do the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Latinoamerica. Also, Brian Rolapp is the new commissioner as of January 1, 2027.
