Definitely not a fan of the logo, I agree that it feels 'off' with the spacing.

I could see him getting into clubs/balls, esp if he buy TM.   Buy TM -> Make a come back -> ?? -> Profit?

I feel like having the Tiger Woods name attached to TM would at least boost sales for a short period, even if hes not playing well. If he DOES play well... then who knows.

Not saying I'm a fan either, but the attempt may have been to be truish to life on the relative spacing of the tiger stripes. Real example and more abstract interpolations:

People have speculated that it is possible with talks of buying Taylormade or what's left of Nike.

If "TGR" did buy whats left of Nike i think the best thing they could do is rebrand the current clubs/designs and maybe market them as a value/budget range.

whatever he does, and despite the crap logo, all credit to him. I think it takes guts to go into the golf business and it wont just be his money he's putting on the line.

Well, he's already in the golf business. Design, running the tournament, etc. I don't think he's really doing much of anything "new" (yet), this is just a way to consolidate his existing and growing (?) interests under one (new) brand.

A.  I agree with most, I'm not impressed by the logo.

B.  Most of the comments have discussed the potential for Tiger to get into golf equipment, and that certainly could happen.  However, it seems even more likely he'll branch out into other businesses.  Restaurants, wine, jewelry or watches, non-golf clothing, real estate development (with or without golf), he's got the resources to get into just about anything that interests him.

Very true. I should have been more specific in regards to getting into equipment (not counting the Tiger Woods Junior sets that were available here in the UK).

I'd like to see him take the plunge and get into the equipment biz but is it too big a risk?

I cant think of too many "former" tour pro's (obviously Tiger is still active(ish)) other than Jack Nicklaus and Ben Hogan that have had anything more than moderate success with golf clubs and stuff, although so many people seem to love the old Hogan Apex irons, but as always i dont mind being proven wrong.

Tommy Armour clubs were popular here in the states for a bit.  The difference with Hogan was he made the clubs and until he sold the business.  Once Callaway took the line over, it was the beginning of the end.

The clubs produced by Arnie and Jack were a line of clubs by an existing manufacturer and they eventually turned into the full box set offering that capitalized on the players name, not the quality of clubs.

I have a couple of Nicklaus woods that I bought used and I think they are quite good quality.

I may be the odd one here.  I actually do not mind the logo.  Doesn't stand out as anything special to me, but I don't have any dislike for it either.

Lol, I was about to write almost the very same thing.  It's understated, which I like.  Could be a W, could be Tiger stripes, could be pine trees (representing golf course design, perhaps?).

    • Well, I have a 2 hybrid, 4 hybrid and then play 6 iron onwards.  My best clubs are probably the 4 hybrid and the PW.  What I find is that loft is your friend in general which is why my 4 hybrid is so much better than my 2 hybrid.  Definitely disproportionately more so than the 5 or so degrees of difference in loft.  If you have hybrids, play them.  And consider loft as your friend.  Invariably you will get up to a loft where anything less will not get you more distance because of your club head speed.  Essentially the faster you swing the less lofted a club you can hit effectively.  For me it is probably a 4 hybrid and maybe a 7 iron though I could improve both with practice
