It's not going to rain.  I just bought a new Under Armour Gore-Tex rain suit.  But just to be sure I'm not going to wash my car on the 18th.

You know, if we keep talking about the weather Mother Nature is going to curse us.      Now according to Accuweather, 81º and mostly cloudy.

Excellent! Perfect insurance against foul weather!  I will bring my rain suit, too.  And my rain gloves and hat.;-)

The Weather Channel is saying 50% chance of rain!  I told everyone to quit talking about the weather, Mother Nature is vengeful.

Accuweather is saying 70º and mostly cloudy.

Looks great. Do we have to ride or can I use a pull cart?

According to their website, you can walk.   They have different rates for walking and cart use.

For those who are planning to arrive early and warm up.  The range is at the front entrance but no car parking is allowed there.  You have to either walk down there or take a cart.  It also has a putting/chipping green with a sand trap by the range.  A larger putting green is by the first tee.  I'll be there about 8:30am.  Takes a long time for me to loosen up enough to take half swings!

You can walk or ride, when I was there it looked like they had rental push carts. So I presume they'd let you use one.

I plan on a cart, I will walk some between shots (especially if there are some bad ones).

Here is my summary of walking "issues" - There are a few short hikes to go from green to the next tee -#7 to #8 is a short walk, getting to  #10 is a hike, #10 to #11 is going under the bridge, but not that long, another short hike to go to #12, and then going back under the bridge from #17 to #18.
A couple of hills to deal with on #8, #9, #10 .... all-in-all if you are a walker this course is not strenuous.

Can't get the day off from work so I'll have to skip the outing.  Hope you all have a great day out there.

Hopefully, this will be the first of many Michigan outings. We'll catch you on the next one.

Accuweather is reporting mostly sunny and a high of 67º.    It is a lie...we don't have sun in Michigan but I'll take the 67º.

I know...no more weather but...dress in layers.   After being in the high 80s the last couple days at tee time tomorrow it is going to be about 48º!

Okay guys, the big day is tomorrow.  We have two tee times reserved; the first is at 10:04am and the second at 10:12am.

I will hang out in the clubhouse and will probably make a little TST sign.  It will likely be pretty obvious who is in our group but we will need to be on the look out for each other.  Reservations are under "Brian Kuehn".

We will pay using a combination of @tlazzol's Groupon deal and "Senior" rates.  At least one of us may be walking.  We can work out the groups once everyone is there.

I am excited to meet everyone.  See you all tomorrow morning.

I'm looking forward to it as well. I have the course plugged into the gps and am in the process of getting all my stuff ready.

It'll be easy to spot me, I'll be the short ugly guy wearing a green adidas cap and green jacket. Denny and I have exchanged phone numbers as well.

I plan on riding but will bring my push cart in case one of the groups consists of walkers.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
