Yes, i hit the distance and direction I intended. I will try playing a pro V1. I played a round with a chrome soft.

I play a chrome soft. I position the ball just on the inside of my front door in hopes of higher flight.

I am going to position ball closer to the middle in hopes of generating more spin.

Chrome Soft is the worst ball on tour. All callaway players are running from it - even CAPTAIN AMERICA has switched to a bridgestone. Callaway is a joke.

Yep! Came from the last Ryder Cup and his round against Rory McIlroy.

FWIW, I tried some ChromeSofts when they first came out and hated them! Hard as rocks, and no feel whatsoever!

i had the same issues at first when i got my Apex Cf16. got fitted for em and played the end of Feb. and went out everyday and now I'm feeling lot better with them and spin them like i was with my Nike VR Pro. They told me i was spinning my irons way too much because i was coming steep, so next swing i flatten out my downswing and picked up 25-30ys. now i can spin my irons jus from playing them a bunch and getting used to them. honestly when i first got my new irons i was so mad because i could not hit my 6-3 long irons in the air at all. went back and filmed my self and figured out what i was doing wrong and now I'm smoking the ball better then ever. don't give up just keep working with them and it will come around. find a good ball that is soft and will spin enough for ya. your shafts are prob fine because they are what gave you the best numbers at the time you were getting fitted. make sure you catching the ball clean and that your launching your irons high enough. Don't go changing your lofts on your irons either, if the place where you got fitted didn't change your lofts they are good then. My Apex CF16 doesn't spin like my Blades do but enough where i can stop the ball if needed. honestly its prob the way your swinging your irons, it could from your not catching the ball clean enough. maybe try and come a lil steep then you  are and hit down on the ball and try and trap ball but make sure you hit the ball first then the ground. it took me almost 5months to get my clubs figured out between distance control and spinning the ball. you also could be delofting the club at impact where you need loft for spin.

if i was you id just go back to where you got fitted at and ask them to check your spin rate. idk bout playing Vice balls first and last time i picked one up they were like a bounce ball feel.

which JPX900 did you get also? Tour, Forged, Hotmetal?

    • Feel like you are left side dominant. Keep the back of your glove running through impact. Keeps leading edge down without digging. You will pick them clean with some zip if the grass is nice and generally acceptable results off anything less than ideal. Works with both hingy or dead hand pitches and chips.
    • Day 52 (30 Apr 26) - Had planned a solo round, got invited to be part of trio that included a fmr mini tour pro.  Was fun playing back a set of tees and having to stay in my game plan. Both were very engaging and encouraging in the round.  A good day in working through and making smarter shot choices.
    • Day 576 - 2026-04-30 Put my playlist on and slowed down a little as things were meh. Mostly got to an exaggerated P6 and hit from there.
    • I mean, a golfer is trespassing and damaging property. So, golf rules don’t supersede state laws. 😉 Like, if it isn’t marked and is off golf property. The right thing to do is take an unplayable lie or take stroke and distance.  Also, this is a liability for the course. The homeowner could easily say the course is liable for damage done because they knowingly didn't mark their boundaries which allowed golfers to trespass and damage property.
    • Interestingly enough, if the course (the Committee in Rules terms) doesn't mark the boundaries, there is nothing out of bounds.  I realize that neighboring homeowners would take a dim view of golfers whacking balls from their backyards, but that's what the Definition of Out of Bounds requires. "All areas outside the boundary edge of the course as defined by the Committee."
