I don't think he is. Casual golf fans won't know who he is in three weeks.

Ok but casual golf fans can't name anyone except Spieth and Johnson and McIlroy.  Horrible way to justifiy if someone is a "name" or not

Not really. That's almost exactly how you define a "name" player. Fowler, Kuchar, Mickelson, Tiger, Day… there are other name players.

Andrew McCutchen is a name player. Jordy Mercer is not. Yet he's still a MLB starter.

Kuch bogeys but so does Spieth again. Still one back.

The scoring is a little higher today but there still are some low scores to be had. There has been 66, 65 and several 67s.

It's possible that Spieth and Kuchar drop a few shots this afternoon, but no one in the trailing groups has been able to move up to a position to capitalize on that possibility as of yet. Matsuyama played himself out of contention on the very first hole.

Spieth has that tendency to be very jittery with a lead. He played really bad with the lead at Transitions a few weeks ago. Obviously the Masters in 2016 that he gave away. At the US Open he won, he was behind DJ a lot of that day, and when he finally took the lead on 16, he gave it away with a terrible hole on 17. Almost feel like he's better when he's grinding things out rather than sitting on and trying to protect a lead.

I think he's fine.  Someone else said it... he does this a lot in the lead.  Makes you think he's gonna completely fall apart but then somehow it works out in the end

I would be, if it wasn't Spieth he was playing with lol.  Love Kuch, but I want to see Spieth win everything lol

If you watched the Traveler's a few weeks ago, this is almost the exact thing that happened there. He was sitting on a lead and all of a sudden went through a stretch where he couldn't make a putt.  He was moving 100mph. He would stroke a putt and walk right away after it knowing he missed it. But once he got behind, it lit a fire under him and he bounced back. He's a weird character for sure.

Haotong Li has the unfortunate distinction of the first man to shoot a 63 at a major, and not tie the championship record.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

10 years from now, I think there will be at least 5 guys who have gotten to 62. I think even a 61 will be shot. Scoring with these guys is just getting better and better.

Don't count Rory out. -7 could be golden ticket if Jordan's nerves get the best of him.

    • Day 127: 5/2/24 Stack Full Speed spectrum training session 6/24. Training speed was 5 mph higher than previous high, as was e-speed. Still not as high as I have done in previous programs, but just 1 mph lower. Battling through a neck issue, and possible trigger fingers. Happy with results.
    • Day 49. Played 9 from tees a bit beyond my comfort zone and was humbled. Hit a couple good shots so will take that at least.
    • +12 47, and never lost a ball or had a penalty. Got the snap hooks off the tee for the first 3 holes. So, playing the punch out game. Probably had like 20 putts. Bad short game day. The greens were weirdly firm but slow. I just don’t get spin out of the rough. I had a SW, with good height hit middle half of the green and end up almost off the back of the green. I know what I was doing with the full swing. Bad habits creeping in.
    • 9 years and counting. Lil chipped paint here and there but still going strong. Also have an 18 deg driving iron that I got a couple of years ago which is doing well too. @iacastried it and I think he liked it.
    • For PING to assemble and ship it? It's a 3H. Yea, the new club has more loft. How do you like that, 2H?
