"5 Minutes Daily" Practice Challenge

Day 306: Bit of a rest day. My left elbow is a bit sore so I just did some backswing work.

Day 5 (8/28/21) - 15 minutes chipping practice with my Orange Whip Wedge today.

Day 63 (28 Aug 21) - Went to the range this afternoon with just the irons.  Focused on the downswing and getting the club “in the slot” instead of over the top.  A lot and I mean a lot of half-swings.  Just took my time and evaluated each shot, from the divot, to body position post-swing and of course ball flight (hook, draw, neutral, fade, slice).  Good news - most shots resulted in a slight fade.  Bad news - found myself not staying consistently in the shot (lifting out and topping the irons).  Was fun not having the temptation of the long, long clubs in the bag.

Day 28:

Did some work on my priority piece with a 7-iron. Hit "Almost" golf balls, with lots of rehearsals before each ball.

Finished with a bit of short game practice, COVID-19 day 6 and 7 drills.

Day 183.  Did the "snapping sticks" drill from the quarantine practice set.

Day 307: Worked on backswing with 6 iron, driver and SW for about 30 minutes. Then worked on my other pieces. Finished with SuperSpeed, Blue Stick protocol. Hit 109 with the blue and 105 with the driver.

Day 29:

Played 18. New priority piece seemed to be working well today.

Day 6 (8/29/21) - After pulling each of my tee shots on the last three holes on Friday night, I spent 15-minutes today with my 5-wood and a noodle station (noodle set in the ground at a 45* angle) working on keeping my back swing below the noodle and through swing above it in order to tame my recurring OTT move.

Day 64 (29 Aug 21) - More slot work in the downswing with the 9i today.  Wrapped up with some very easy swings to a distance of around 70yds…

Day 184.  I spent 10 minutes after work today hitting 6-iron shots (about five, including rehearsals) with my priority piece (setup and where I am at A3).

Day 308: More backswing work for 15 minutes.

Day 7 (8/30/21) - Same drill as yesterday, but with a 7-iron. 15-minutes.

Day 30:

Only had time for a short session after a long day at work. Worked on new priority piece. Started with chippy/pitchy length swings with a 6-iron, and worked up to a 9-3 swing. Lots of rehearsals between balls.

Day 185.  Yet another day of ten minutes of 6-iron work with the priority piece.  I need to carve out some time for a longer practice session.

Day 65 (31 Aug 21) Note: took yesterday off, first time since restarting the 5min Daily challenge, to rest the left foot (some skin breakdown on the (grafted) skin in the left foot pressure areas.  Went to the course today, focusing on minimalized set of clubs, walking instead of riding and playing good course management.  Played the front nine, finished with a 39 or 3 over par.  I did play one set of tees up on all the 4's and 5's but the regular tees for me on the 3's as I had a 3w as the max club.  Was fun to "manage" my way around instead of whack and hack.

Day 8 (8/31/21) - Played 18 today at North Kingstown Golf Course with @boogielicious, shooting a 90 with 31 putts. One of my best rounds this year.

Day 309: Played 18 with @Bob M at North Kingstown. Lots of fun but I was a bit squirrelly off the tee today.

Day 31:

Did some more work on my priority piece with 8-iron. Same progression as yesterday - started with short swings, worked up to 3/4 swings, and then a few full swings. Lots of rehearsals between each ball.
