5 mins putting on the backyard grass. Just practicing technique and stroke to maintain motor memory.

4/2 Day 2 monsoon conditions outside so I putt across the living for 10 min working on square contact and hitting the ball with the center of the club face. Then I grabbed my wedges and tried to keep bouncing the ball in the air. Almost broke the cable box and still cannot find 1 of the balls. But did improve, will it help my hand eye coordination to result in better contact? I don’t know.

Day 368:

Practiced putting in the living room for about 15 minutes in the wee hours. Mostly 12-15 feet... Just line and speed getting ready to maybe get out on the course in about a week or so... maybe next Wednesday if the weather decides to cooperate.

Day Three, of year two of this challenge... All 93 days in 2018, by the way for those who wonder. @JuanTheGolfer were even on that one... Just try to keep up for the rest of the year if you can.

Day 93. ? Actually I have lost count. Haven't missed since 1/1/18....lol

Chipping and putting this morning. It's a good thing I only reside 5 minutes from the course.

Started messing around with Geoff Mangrum's green reading technique. Just trying something new to keep a higher interest level.

Day 60 - April 3, 2018 - Worked on my full swing backswing pieces, feeling the right elbow or my hands farther "that way" (away from the target and, well, my head and/or shoulders).

Day 3 April 3rd, got home threw on the golf shirt and was headed up to the course next door then I realized the fairways are all torn up and the range was closed so I chipped across the back yard for several turns and then bumped and ran it many more times. Focus was on good contact, center of club, and getting the balls closely landing together.

Day 7 - Had a really good practice session this morning - spent 1 hr 45 minutes on 60 balls, which is pretty good going for me! Lots of slow-motion work and practice on the priority piece for the first hour and then spent the last 45 minutes or so on partial wedge yardages.

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

Day 369:

More work this morning with my A4 to A5 drill. Raining pretty hard outside so the drills were done indoors. My next lesson is a week from today. And I have a feeling Craig has another drill to build on this.

Day 94

Lubed, and rotated the wheels on my Clicgear. Checked tire pressures. Gave the frame a good wipe down.:-P

Once at the practice area, it was more putting getting use to distances in relation to my back swing.  Worked off level, uphill, and downhill surfaces.

Also spent some time practicing green reads for longer putts. Trying out a new technique that seems to have some promise.

My full swing is on the shelf for another week till we figure out my latest shoulder ailment.

DAY 135.    Spent 10 minutes on the putting green working on long putts.  After warming up on the range I played 18 holes.     GRRRR.... I hit a lot of good shots, but a few clunkers were mixed in.   Just motivation for more range work. :-)

So the Journey begins...

Day 1- Worked on 3-wood Tee Shots as well as tee shots with my Mini-Driver. Objective was to maintain 80% of my shots or better within my shot zone. I achieved 80% exactly with 3 wood and 60% with mini driver. I did my best to treat each tee shot as if it were the real deal and went through my pre-shot routine almost every time.

    • Day 262 5-12 Got an early practice session in this morning. Arms off body was the main focus with getting chest through with speed, I did much better with wrist arching through the downswing.
    • Yea, developing a proper shot zone for that approach should would be helpful. If you are bringing OB into play more than you like, then it is either needs to be an accepted reward for the risk. If you hit 10 shots from that tee ball landing area. If like 1 ball goes OB, that could be outlier shots you need to discard. If more than that is creeping in, then it is probably not the correct shot.  Maybe it needs to be more nuanced. Maybe you hit more shots OB from the left side of the hole than right due to shot shape. If you hit it left to right, maybe being on the left side makes you aim further right, bringing in OB right. It could be an aiming issue.
    • Thank you, @saevel25.  First two points, definitely, and those are things I can do.  PGA Tour average being 3.0 from 100 yards in the rough (or 160 in the fairway, per ESC) is a great reminder that a 5 is a really good score on a par-5 and the occasional six isn't anything to be upset about, as long as I played it intelligently.   I'm playing in less than a week, and I checked the three par-5s against ShotScope's 5-handicap baseline.    My last par on two of them yielded a 0.23 stroke gain (each), while the last one had -0.07 on my last par (I wonder if ShotScope measures straight-line distance, because there's some slight bending going on). Hmmm, that last one, especially with between the ropes.  I think I'll go through my past rounds later today and see where I'm losing strokes there -- I would guess it's on my second shot, since that one makes me nervous because of O.B. left and right on the second shot.  Yet, I think I can hit a hybrid from my typical tee shot landing area and have a distance wedge into the green.
    • Goal 1) Keep the ball between the ropes. The ropes being where you have a full swing at the ball to advance it as far towards the green as possible. Not in trees, bunkers, hazards, long grass, OB, etc...  Goal 2) Advance the ball as far as possible towards the green with respect to your shot zone. Keep the ball in play, ideally in the fairway, but the rough is not terrible. Stay away from hazards, including bunkers. Ideally, you will in play with a short iron, distance wedge shot, pitch shot, or on the green. If this is the case, then think of it as having a par 3 that is the distance left on the par 5. If you are hitting a full swing short iron, then that is going to be difficult to get par than bogey. PGA Tour is 3.0 from the rough from 100 yards. This might be where fairway matters the most.  PGA Tour rough is tougher than what we usually play. If you get can this close to 50/50 for par/bogey than you will most likely end up more pars than bogies on par 5's. You would probably be better than 50/50 if you end up closer to the hole. This is where the advice would be, aim at the center of the green with full swing shots into par 5's.
