Day 215 - Range work today. Medium bucket (about 60 balls); did the following:

Warmed up with 8i

Practiced punch shots with my 6H. I have found this shot to be useful on a couple of holes and wanted to determine what swing length would get me 80-100 yard shots and how high it would go.

Hit 30 balls with my 54* SW using a 9 to 3 swing. Focus was to maintain right hand extension through the hitting area. When I did this successfully, the shots carried 60-70 yards.

Hit several drivers and heaven woods, then cooled down with 8i and 9i.

Day 12

Took a few breaks through out the day and did some slow swings indoors. Focused on slowing down and stopping the swing around A3-A3.5. The swing feels normal from A1 to A2, but then just puts on the brakes from A2 to A3.5-ish.

Day 1: 6/1/2022

Okay, I'm back in on this challenge.
I've been in on this a few times over the years. Once I even made it over 100 days straight. But I took the last two weeks off for lots of reasons, and I'm ready to begin again.

Today I hit the range. I worked on my priority pieces. Starting with my set-up, then switching between a 9 iron and a 5 iron. Hitting a couple of balls focusing on my first priority piece and then a couple of balls focusing on my second priority piece. I did this for about a half hour.

Then I hit ten balls with my driver. I tried to get all 10 into an imaginary "Fairway". I'd say 9 were probably in. One hooked way .... way out.

Lastly, I alternated between 3-wood, hybrid and 6-iron. Hitting one ball each for 12 balls. Just sort of checking that I can hit them. Not really working on anything other than a clear swing thought and hitting a very specific target.

I play league tonight, so that will be a good chance to check out where my game is after my short lay-off.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 173 (01 Jun 22) - played 18 w/Grandson at Minnesott.  Clubbed up on approaches and it paid off.  Even misses right or left (dad both) were pin high.  A real confidence boost across the bag.

Day 87.  Spent ten minutes in my indoor practice room hitting slow full shots with my 7-iron.  Incidentally, I should practice 8 and 7 iron more, as GG tells me I'm giving up shots to a 10 hcp, about half a shot a round, in the 125-150 range

Day 217 - More range time today, this time at NKGC.

Range: Hit 30 balls with my 54* SW using a 9 to 3 swing. Like the other day, focused on maintaining RH palmer extension through the hit; 28 of the 30 were good solid shots.

Hit 9i, 8i, 6H, Heavenwood and Drivers, then about a dozen balls out the the practice bunker.

Practice green: practiced various chip shots then putting speed work.

Day 589: Range today focused on same pieces. Also did a lot of medium length short game shots from all kinds of lies. This range has small hilly knolls where you can get up, down and side hill lies to a green for various length shots up to 60 yards. I also did sand shots and pitches/flops over the bunkers.

    • Tiger’s walking at the PNC and people say he’s not limping.
    • I haven't heard much of anything about it. Faux leather, sure. Biodegradable leather? No. No idea. You're a bit too new, still, to post links.
    • Okay, I'm genuinely curious about this "biodegradable leather" trend in golf. Are we talking snake oil here? I mean, golf balls, clubs... they all end up in the water eventually. Is this just greenwashing, or is there actually a real environmental benefit? And honestly, does it even perform as well as traditional leather? I don't want to sacrifice distance for the planet, you know? Anyone with real-world experience with these eco-friendly golf goods? Spill the tea!
