"98 yards, a perfect sand wedge" -- it sure was for Tiger.  I can only hit my sand wedge 98 yards when I'm short sided in a bunker.

I don't think it works well when its raining and there is rain drops on the camera....they have had it most of the round so far that I have seen.

It was funny looking at the anchor mini tower for the cameras behind the tees, the towers were very sturdy, looked like they were designed for old 300 pound cameras, but the actual cameras mounted on them are very small. If you have an excellent camera in a smartphone, the shoebox sized one is pretty darn good enough for national tv.

Thank you.  I just noticed its absence on Tiger's tee shot there, I guess I integrated it internally and didn't realize when it had been there.

Wide fairways, soft greens and little wind today. This is right up DJ’s alley. Have a feeling he’s going to get a couple more under par before the end of the day. Gonna be tough to take him down right now between the way he’s playing and the way conditions suit his game.

It's okay, Tiger, we've all felt like pelting officials sometimes.

If CBS would just get rid of Boring-Finch and replace him with Ken Brown I might not have to watch their coverage with mute on all the time. Replace McCord with Flesch and they may get closer to NBC’s coverage.

Anyone else digging these microphones picking up all of the sound on the greens like the putt dropping?

These camera guys cannot even find the drives after they land in the fairway. Most other tournaments, they can darn near follow it through its entire flight. Maybe the heavy mist is causing them issues?  Word has it Poulter is complaining he's not in a "featured group". :-$

You mean supplement McCord with Feherty to get great coverage, right?

Yes.

Dang, that bunker Thomas is in on #18... wow.

I think I am going to do the "practicing long bunker shots at home" drill from LSW right now after that Tiger shot (bunker shot, hole 18).

Phew nice bogey save.  Even par for nine holes, but you gotta do better on the next nine Tiger.

So Bryson was complaining about the course set up. Calling it at one point a Clown Golf.

It seems like he didn't understand how his ball didn't draw back when there was a strong left to right wind. Also, why his ball ended up right of the green on #11 with another strong left to right wind.

Yea, if you have to aim way off the green than do so.

He is. Hoping I’m wrong on this, but I could see some separation happening this weekend and this turning into a one-man show which isn’t exactly thrilling tv. But unless they let these greens loose or tighten these fairways, It’s going to be tough to slow him down.

Maybe he should take a physics class.

Nice drive by Tiger on #1.

    • Not really, no. I don't know the history, what you've worked on, what you've tried and moved away from… etc.
    • Day 9: 2/16/25 Putting through 50 mm gates from 11”. Swing pressure shift drills.
    • Definitely not a favorite… For some reason my wife and I started watching Cobra Kai. I know the original was pretty cheesy, but the inability of these people to get over shit that happened like 30 years ago is astounding. And these kids would be arrested, but they don’t even seem to get suspended from school. Would Danny not notice that Johnny’s son looks like Johnny? Etc.? Why would a completely different dojo that has the same name be “banned”? Oy. Not sure we’ll make it to season 2.
    • Day 139 - 2025-02-16 Weather led to a rescheduled GEARS lesson, so I used the time to work on my swing for 60 minutes or so. All downswing stuff. Some swings at 93 MPH. Most around 75-80.
    • A question I have is…this swing (fade, pull cut) does not  feel as good and easily repeatable as the draw swing we were working on previously.  I’m kinda in a weird spot where I do not know which direction will be the best to pursue. I like seeing a penetrating 5 yard draw but also like the thought of the fade not getting away from me as much.    Any thoughts on that?
