I don't really see how this would work because how would the app/system know whether I'm at a tee box waiting to tee off because of a slow group in front of me vs at the tee box with myself and my playing partners hitting our tee shots?

Knowing that the price of my round is continually increasing due to a slow group in front of me that doesn't care about the price of their round would make me enjoy the round significantly less.

it would have to be done as a % of time you fall behind the group in front of you.   for example, you only get dinged when the group behind you is waiting on you AND you are not waiting on the group in front of you AND you are playing slower that whatever the standard pace of play is.

We’re getting off topic here, but that wouldn’t provide any reward for those who can play faster than the people playing ahead of them. He would not only want to penalize those who are slow, but to reward those who are particularly fast.

Not sure if this is at the PGA show or not, but assuming it is based on time of release...

Arccos finally eliminated the need to keep your phone in your pocket.

Arccos Link is a small, ultralight accessory that allows users of the Arccos Caddie platform to automatically record their on-course performance data without the need for a phone in pocket. Compatible with iPhone and...

Not that it was something that ever really bothered me, but it did use a lot of batter and also made my bluetooth speaker cut out when I drifted a bit too far from the cart.

appears you can clip this to your belt or keep it in your from pocket.  based on dimensions, looks like its about a quarter the size of an iphone in length and about half as thick.

Looks like it was timed to coincide with the show.

This existed well before the show, right? Maybe there's a new upgrade. By the way, is it me, or does the swing capture on the 4DMotion not look like the actual swing of the person in the video.

So basically like game golf pro is now? Except it is extra and not included with the unit?

Yeah, the only difference I can think of is you don't need to tap, which if I am honest I would forget to do from time to time. The downside is the Arccos unit I used changed the swingweight of my club.

The Pill - ball chopped on the sides for short game practice. This has been around for awhile, and I've never heard of it till now. So many products.

The pro you don't tap, either.

I wonder if this is actually any good for putting? I've seen them in the clearance bin at my local GolfGalaxy and almost picked some up one time..

I can't tell if this is in the app, but my friends idea is to use a technology like this to change the pricing that you get as a golfer like the new car insurance apps they have. So if you are a slow golfer you pay more, and if you are a fast golfer you pay slightly less than the going rate. The car insurance apps track your speed, braking, etc and then give you a discount based on how safe a driver you are, this would do a similar thing for golfer based on preshot routines, wondering around for lost balls, and general quickness.

I think his idea is pretty good.

This would get someone killed...haha. I mean, you see how mad people get about pace of play now. Imagine if the group in front of them was causing their rates to go up!

Yes, but I also think their second version reduced the weight a good bit. I believe they're about half the weight of the GG Pro tags.

Unfortunately it only works if the course first establishes an appropriate pace of play.

Sadly, too many think 4:15 is appropriate…

Ok. So now 4:15 is slow. Why don't people like you just quit the game if its so agonizing for you to be out playing such a wonderful sport if you cant finish in 3 hrs. or less.

    • I am currently playing a Cobra Ltdx LS 9 degree driver and Cobra Ltdx LS FW3. Both with Tensei White stock stiff shafts and original weights of 12g (heel) and 3g (toe). My miss is usually a pull fade or sometimes a slice, swing is out to in. Driver swing speed about 112 mph. Grips are stock regular. Intended change: Driver: Switching to Tensei White x-flex one inch shorter which I suppose would be 44,5? Changing heel weight to 18g. Changing grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Change hosel setting to standard draw. FW3: Changing heel weight to 16g (apparently not available in FW weights, but supposed to be something called "internal weight" a club builder can add which fits between the weight and the screw?). Change grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Changing hosel setting to standard +1. The goal is to 1) get better grip since I tend so lose grip in warm and moist conditions with the current grips and 2) mitigate the misses to start more straight with less side spin. Also considering adding the Cobra Ltdx LS FW5 instead of my old Taylormade R9 and getting 14g heel and 6g toe weights with the same grip as the others and hosel setting standard +1.   All of the above is based on conversations with ChatGPT and, as everyone knows, it can come up with pretty much whatever but I spent a few hours asking about different perspectives etc and this was the recommendation. So, my question is basically, does it make any sense?   Thanks.
