DeArmond playing on the Web.Com tour in Florida, carded a 17 on one hole, while trying to carry a water hazard. Finished up his round with a 91.

The high score is something, but not that important. What he said afterwards is what is important in my book.

When playing golf, after a true scoring disaster takes place, the golfer should not get mad, throw clubs, or quit. The golfer should just take it in stride, laugh, and have fun with the rest of the round.

I like this guy.

In sports, "splash" can represent many things. In basketball, it might mean Steph Curry has gone off with another barrage of threes. In golf, at least...

I don't know much else you could do after that. That is pretty embarrassing. I struggle with how 17 is possible on any hole.

I get good sportsmanship, but I don't really get being cool with that much suck.  It's ok to be mad as long as you restrain yourself and don't go full on Sergio/Tasmanian Devil.

He said it was an out of body experience for him. I am sure that's what it turned into after he rinsed the 3rd or the 4th ball. At that moment the normal risk assessment/damage control/shot/club selection process that a pro would expect to go through takes a hike.

I am sure he was dying inside but put up a brave face.
