See if you guys have some horrible stuffs you've seen on the golf courses. I happened to witnessed quite a few nasty ones.

- I once saw a guy set his whole golf bag on fire after he was done playing. I guessed he had a bad day, and surely, he got money to spare. At that point, I thought I wouldn't see anything as bad or worse.

- During a casual round, there were some small kids in front of my group. They were practicing for an upcoming tournament, with their parents sitting in the golf cart along the way. Then one hole, this kid hit his approach into the green side bunker. Everything seemed normal, until the kid bladed his 3rd from the bunker into the water. His dad rushed into the bunker and then slapped him silly and yelled at him as if he committed murder.

- This last one was less than a week ago. One of the caddy in my group just fell down on the 18th green and died. He fell flat to the green like a rag doll, as if his heart has decided to stop at that exact moment. After we tried to get him back up, he wasn't responding. We then got him to the nearest hospital, but there was so much that the doctor could do. He passed away 48 years old. That was pretty shocking and sad.

I wish nothing happen this Saturday, though, cause I'm about to have a round there again this week.

Not too long ago I saw a 4 some of hackers in TWO carts criss-crossing all the fairways, not playing ready golf and taking a really long time. I don't want to make anybody ill with the details but lets just say the round was (you might want to get your kids in the other room) over 5 hours.

I saw a beverage cart girl with a little cellulite on her thighs once.

At least he had the good sense to wait until the 18th so you were able to finish the round, otherwise it would have been "Hit the ball, drag Frank, hit the ball, drag Frank".

OK, I am sorry to throw in such a tasteless and cruel comment. My sense of humor has always been pretty twisted and dark, and I tend to try to look for the humor in even the worst of situations - it's what I find keeps me from going crazy in life. Your tale is truly sad and shocking....this is just a game we play and it is meant to give us pleasure, and I hope that your sense of enjoyment in the future isn't forever tainted by such a tragic end to your round. I chuckled at the guy setting fire to the bag - we've all heard of people tossing the clubs into a lake or garbage, but lighting it on fire brings a nice sense of the dramatic. And the parent berating his kid for the bad shot makes me sick. It's just a #$@% game!

The most horrible things I've seen on a golf course involve parents making the game unpleasant for their children. ESPECIALLY when said parent doesn't know what in the he11 they're talking about regarding the golf swing.

wow that last one would be tough to get through the day....

I was a cart boy at a local golf course back in 2000, and watched some dude walk into the parking lot after the 18th hole, rip his shoes off, throw them...rip his shirt off...then proceeded to do like 20 pushups shoeless and shirtless in the parking lot. strangest thing I have ever seen.

This was back in like 1998 when all teh hoopla of "I am Tiger Woods" was the craze...was at a local range and this kid looked like he wanted to be beamed up into outerspace...just didn't care to play golf at all, but his douche of a dad was standing right there and I kid you not walked right up to him, the kid could barely look him in the eye..and the father says

Do you want to be Tiger Woods!

I wanted to hit him in the back of the head with my wedge.

I was playing at a muni course (Leo J Martin in Weston, MA) and I was complaining to this random guy who happened to join me on the 10th hole, a short par 3 with some marsh-land short. I was telling him how I was pissed that I had goose poop on my spikes, and the green was covered with feathers. Plus, as we were walking to the green there were geese hissing at us. He goes "It's cool, I'll take care of it." Then whips out his 9 iron and proceeds to literally slay a goose. Chopped the head clean off, and the thing kept walking for a few seconds before it dropped dead. I was this close to vomiting, but i just decided to walk back to the ninth hole and let a few groups play through me so I didn't have to see that guy again. That 10th hole still creeps me out, but on the plus side I haven't seen geese there since.

I played a course in West Africa and was going to hire a caddy, the caddy turned to be a good player and the course was empty, so I asked the pro if I could just have the caddy play with me, and he agreed. We were having a great time and sipping a couple of beers. We got to the 11th hole and he had to "take care of business" in the bushes. He wasnt in there 3 seconds before he came running back out saying that there was a dead guy in there. I walked over.......and sure enough, there was a body lying there all sliced up. Not cool........ round ended.

He slaughters you a goose and you ditch him? I would have bought him a beer at the 19th´s for getting me dinner (those wild geese taste great!).

Here in Minnesota, he'd be charged with a felony for that.

I believe that's that case in Massachusetts too.

I saw a cart girl charge $20 to show her boobs....could have easily seen them for $5...what a rip off.
