Never walked from a bucket (altho probably should have at least twice) ... I have walked off the course a couple times when I got sick of embarrassing myself (playing alone each time).

Some days it's just better to walk and hope to do better next time.

I almost walked off the course two weeks ago. Not because I was embarrassing myself but I had a terrible front 9. Luckily and decided to keep going and did much better on the back.

Yep, me too. I get all I want for free so I only hit as many as I feel like.

Only if I've accomplished what I wanted to or if I start to feel sore or overly tired. The latter comes mainly in the summer or during a busy day, while the prior comes while I am working on something specific.

Drill a hole through one of the golf balls and tie mono fish line to the ball. Attach the line to a small reel and rod you have in your bag. walk away an sit on the bench. when someone goes to pile of left over balls start reeling in the ball tied to the fishing rod ( ice fishing rods work well and fit right into the bag ) Then get ready for a laugh at the reactions of different people

I've never walked away from a bucket. In fact, i'm the guy who pops out of nowhere and takes your balls the moment you decide to leave them.

I have however, walked away from a round. Many, many times. I only do this if i'm alone, playing REALLY bad, and playing at a municipal course (they're cheap).

Tonight I sure felt like it. I topped my pitching wedge 50 yards and it just got worse after that. My mind was elsewhere and I should have just done something else. One good thing, my 3 year old had some good putts on the practice green.

Yeah. I was on a half circle range and I shanked a lob wedge into the head of a teenaged girl out with her dad hitting balls. Probably scarred her from golf for life. I could not concentrate after that and gave them my bucket. Contemplated giving up the game after that one.

Yeah i just finished travelling 6 hours and i went to the range and i was warming up
hit my wedge shank
i'm like hmm ok weird ... stepped back loosened up a bit
Address the ball... shank... ok that's just unlucky... pre shot routine... address the ball... shank okkkk
hit like 5 more than i was like ok i'm goin home
I got it figured out... annoying how little lapses in concentration when you first start mess things up

Well always I guess---let me explain. My driving range is $8 for all I can hit---off real grass, real practice bunkers and lots of pins to hit to.

Usually my session (maybe 2 to 2.5 hours) is a full pyramid. Yesterday it was 80% of a pyramid. The mosquitoes got to me. As the sun sets they get wicked.

9* Geek No Brainer with red Stiff Gallofory shaft
15* R5 3 wood with Burner shaft

52*, 56*,60* Reid Lockhart Dual Bounce spinner shaftScotty Cameron Newport MidSlant with Tiger Shark GripTM LDP Red balls---used because I'm...

Our range gives you 3 tokens for $10, each token gets you 40 balls. I usually get them in increments of 40 so if I'm not feeling it, I don't have to leave anything behind.

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. Did he do any of these things? TIGER WOODS' AMATEUR VICTORIES YEAR WIN(S) 1984 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1985 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1988 Boy's 11-12 Junior World Golf Championships   1989 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships   1990 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships, Insurance Youth Golf Classic   1991 U.S. Junior Amateur, Boys 15–17 Junior World Golf Championships, Orange Bowl International Junior Look at some other AJGA Players of the Year. How many of these names do you recognize? A few, for sure. I assure y'all, I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios. I just don't get what the point is. Okay. I get that, then. Thanks.
    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
    • Just stumbled onto the article.  Totally random and thought it might be interested to hear other thoughts. maybe I am tired of all the LIV crap and  this just caught my attention.
    • Day 1: Spent some time hitting some balls. Working on my hips and a “soft” and straight trail arm.
    • Slight digression on the way to my point. Back in the day there were a lot of people who said that Tiger won because of “the Tiger effect” where people pushed too hard and made mistakes trying to catch him and fell by the wayside. I thought that was BS. It was just that he was that much better than them. I don’t think anything has changed my mind on that.    The hype about Miles Russell is very limited. I’ve seen nothing about him outside of some fairly hardcore golf websites. But I think that the reason those people are talking about him is because he is very good. Same as Tiger. And like I said he just broke one of Tiger’s records. That gets hardcore golf fans to pay attention.
