What do you use for a ball marker on the green? Here is mine...

I usually just keep a few nickels and quarters in my golf bag. But lately, for whatever the reason, wanted something with more meaning. Looking in golf shops, most the ball markers had magnetic attachments for ball caps and such. I am not interested in that, so I kept looking.

Found some really sweet poker chips at local golf courses here in the Pinehurst area. While cool looking and such, they are too large and too deep for my taste. I am not looking at making a 2mm deep indention the size of a half dollar in every green I putt on.

I got on Ebay and found more plentiful options. Below is what I settled on. A classic American flag coin, roughly the size of a quarter, but slightly thinner than a quarter which was a nice surprise. At $2.95/each, it was quite a bit more affordable than the $10-15 ball markers I had been looking at.

So, what do you guys use to mark your ball?

While a bit type A, even for me, I am contacting the golfballs site to see if they will put this logo on some Titleist NXT Tour S balls for me. On the site, they only show about 6 balls as an option. I got a feeling they will put the logo on any ball though. A matching ball and ballmark? Sweet. Did I just say that? Winter time....

I have a Fujikura hat clip ball market that I use.  I also have a marker from a golf course community (Hawk's Landing) back where Im from in Wisconsin and I sometimes also use a Wisconsin state quarter.

Mines kinda cheesy but I don't care haha. My mother was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and she decided to give me this little coin that has the pink breast cancer awareness ribbon on one side and on the other side has a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson that says, "What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us."

Gordo,

That's not cheesy at all.  That's very cool.

I used a Canadian dollar coin last year.  Weird thing was that under the nickel and brass outside was a steel inside.  It stuck to magnets!

Agreed^^^

Nothing cheesy about that man. Quite inspiring actually.

As a Registered Nurse of ten years, I have dealt with terminally ill patients often.

The inner strength some of these people possess is something that amazes me still.

I truly hope I never have to be that strong. Best of wishes to you and yours.

I agree, not cheesy at all and I love the Emerson quote!

Been using this one for some time, but some players said it was distracting, so I'm using the backside now, which is all blank.

I use a US fifty cent piece.  I don't mash it down into the green so I'm mindful to always mark it out of anyone else's way if necessary.  My eyesight must not be the best because I lose track of smaller coins (dimes and pennies) and even quarters can leave me searching.  The .50 piece is a good compromise for me because it's big and shiny enough for me without being hugely distracting for others.

I like using quarters, or my "The Ohio State University" Ball marker..

Foreign, usually British, coins.

I use either a Denver Broncos marker, or a very cool firefighter one I found on eBay.

Just a Callaway marker that clips to my divot tool.  Cheap, simple, effective.

i collect 'poker' chips from courses i play so i have a titleist valuables bag that is full of a solid 25-30 chips. i always just grab one, however, my TPC jasna polana chip is the most lucky, ie i shoot hte lowest rounds using it...call it mental but the worst one in my bag is my traditions club (myrtle beach) chip. they sit on the green so i'm mindful of others lines when i put it down.

I use a divot repair tool and ball marker combo set that I got from the US Amateur final round pairing last year at Erin Hills.  Kind of cool, their logo is a shamrock.

The past couple years I have been along with a majority of the posts and have used a divot tool/marker combo. This year I am wanting to change it up a little. I have been looking for some british coins to use. I am looking for this because I have English Heritage in my family. So something different, with a little meaning to it I guess.
