My putter usually lasts about 1-2 years before I have to sell it for a new one. I can no longer control the distance with my putter anymore, so it's time for a new one. I don't want to spend more than $200 because I'll likely get a new one again in a year or two. So, what are some good putters for under $200? I'll take any recommendations and try them all out next time I go to Golf Galaxy.

Try the Odyssey Versa Line. Some of them even arrive with a SuperStroke grip.

Why not get fit for a putter (like an Edel): spend the $400 now, and not every 1-2 years (or even every 10 years…)?

I hate living in Montana sometimes. Closest Edel fitter is 275 miles away.

Agree with Erik - if you can get a business trip or vacation scheduled near a fitter, you can buy the putter once ... my Edel has 4.5 years on it.

I live in Toronto, and the closest fitter is in Erie, PA, which is 3 hours away.

Lucky to have a short drive there, I only drove 500+ miles to get fit. :)

I switched to a SeeMore because I wanted to switch to a more consistent stroke -- week in and week out. The alignment system on the SeeMores helps consistency but requires a commitment to their method to take advantage of it.

Zach Johnson uses the original SeeMore model. Many choice at $150.

Mine was 175. Wish it was 50 but love it. Use to be a horrible putter with about 5 three putts a round and hardly any 1 putts with my scotty. Today no three putts and 8 1 putts. Rolls the ball so pure

I found my current putter Carbite Polar Balanced at a garage sale for $5. It was a belly putter but I cut it down and put a TigerShark oversized grip on it. I still have my Odyssey White Hot #2 and a STX9750 that I occasionally rotate into the bag. Since you change putters often maybe check out some of the shops' pre-owned stuff.
