@saevel25 and I were at Whispering Woods Golf Club today in Erie, PA today and they had a good amount of signage for an event I was trying to get them to host last year.

The first (annual?) "Big Cup" 3-person Scramble will be held Wednesday, June 3. I hope to be there to provide a little "coverage" (ha ha, I just want to see what it's about, and maybe I'll take some video or something) but I think this is a very cool way to play some lower-pressure golf.

They are going to put the holes in some weird spots on the green - on big slopes and tucked in corners - but otherwise it's just a scramble. Get the ball anywhere on the green and you have a chance to make the putt. That's exciting. No more "lagging" because you're 30 feet away in a scramble. Charge the thing! I expect a lot more chip-ins too.

Here are Matt and I experimenting with the capture speed on the 8-inch hole. :)

I can see it. Ha ha. Way to drip that one in there.

@iacas did @NatalieB play the larger holes? I read that kids new to the game really like playing the larger holes. I know my daughter did, she is a bit younger than Natalie though.

It's a tournament on June 3. She hasn't played with the larger hole, ever, no. I like to think she does okay with the 4.25" hole. :)
