I found a pair of Oakley Flak 2.0 on clearance during Vacation for 130.00. I bought my son a pair of oakley's because he has been wanting some forever, and that got me an additional 50% off mine, which made them 65.00. I bought them with the normal polarized lenses but they had another deal going on where I got 30% off lenses so I bought the golf prizm lenses as well. I went this route because I needed regular sunglasses more than anything and the prizm lenses were not nearly as good as the normal lenses for driving and what not. I highly recommend the Oakley Prizm lenses for golfing. They are just as advertised.

I've sat on more pairs of expensive sunglasses than I can count.  Just found the best sunglasses I've ever had...and they are unbreakable!  Excellent polarized lenses, 2 pair for $75, 100% UV protection, guaranteed against breakage for 24 months.  I'll never go back to another brand. They are at REKS.com

What color lenses do you all recommend for the highest contrast so i might see the ball in the air?

Long story short, my buddies know to stand behind me so they can tell me where my ball goes. After about 150 yards, if I see it at all, it disappears in the sky. I use optic yellow balls to help find them on the ground, but other colors like red or orange weren't any more visible in the air and were harder to find on the ground.

I have an appointment with an optometrist on Monday afternoon and I'm going to talk to him about contacts. Then, the recommendations for glasses in this thread are going to be important to me.

I just don't think I've seen anyone mention what color lenses you have.

I've had a good day if I don't fall out of the cart...

I hear ya.  I lose sight of my drives at about 310 yards out.  😂

I use the Oakley Prism lenses for golf. The contrast is excellent and they are not too dark either.

If you're going to  continue to use optic colors for golf balls, I'd recommend smoke lenses. I really like the UA Tuned for golf lenses, and I play near exclusively orange golf balls.

For white golf balls go with either the Oakley Prizm lenses, or anything designed for baseball will also usually work on while golf balls in the sky.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

I've been looking into these. What color lenses did you buy for golf?

    • Hopefully this one is better
    • Patrick Cantlay's strokes gained from 2024: I wonder if he takes more time on approach shots given that was the worst part of his game last season. And then here are his 2023 stats: Much better ball striking season. I wonder if there are any differences in his times between these two seasons. I tend to think he's just slow in general, but it'd be interesting to see his time differences.
    • Not sure, I think players have their own pace. Speith was always slow, regardless if he was in contention or not. Well, more so when he was in contention. It might be a push there on that question.
    • Without knowing the study at all, this could be more of a reflection of who is tournament ready and who isn't. If you have a quick trigger, it could mean your swing is working really well. Fidgeting, lots of rehearsals, maybe means your swing's not functioning as well as you'd like it to and you need more time to feel it all out before you hit your shot.
    • A study done by the European Tour shows spending less time over the ball produces better shots.  This makes sense. I can see where if you are over the ball a long time you lose the ability to make a more athletic swing. There is also the possibility of just overthinking the shot while over the wall as well and not being in the right headspace.
