I attached this piece because it's the only one that actually has the properties purchased circled. This really isn't "big news" per se. But I never ratholed into how ANGC went about expanding its footprint and I started reading older pieces on the why's and how's. Below is a 2002 and 2018 overhead photo of the area I captured from a WSJ piece.

Augusta National is buying up local properties...again. Here's why the world's most famous golf course is adding a Wendy's to its portfolio.

Well if they're looking for someone that specializes in Wendy's equipment, I know a guy that will do repairs for a round of golf at their course 😜

I've been known to make a KFC purchase near my golf course.  Original recipe chicken breast and a butter biscuit.

(How many of you will now be having KFC tonight for dinner?)

Where does John Daly set up his motor coach and sell memorabilia? I know it's at a fast food joint near Augusta. Thought is was a Hooters.

Dang, and I thought the $5 lunches were a lot to spend on a Wendy's.

Well, they needed to either make 13 longer or change it to a par 4 because some guys were starting to hit wedges in there for their second shots.

I just hope this disatance revolution is coming to and end because I don’t want to see 600-yard par 4s soon. I’ve  hit my 9-iron 150 yds for the last five years while guys are now hitting 9 irons from over 200.

Not sure which tourney it was but remember Koepka doing it at a tourney last year and was like “wtf”.

Might have been straight downwind. Just saw Rory hit a 7 iron from 204 but it was with a healthy tailwind. Nobody is hitting a 9 iron that far without extenuating circumstances.

True but most hit it farther than 140/150 which is my max. I actually usually hit 7 or 8 from 150 and just choke down a bit for more accuracy.

Most of the longer hitters hit it 150 on Tour.  Some have juiced up clubs. They way they hit the ball, the height, the spin, wind affects it a lot.  So downwind can really add distance.  Out of the rough, who knows. I've flown a green from 200 yds with an 8-iron once.  It wasn't my incredible swing speed that did that.  It was an incredible downwind flier.  They are also on elevated tees frequently hitting downhill. Golf commentators almost never mention this when they are hyping the distances these guys are getting.

On the other hand, there are the Cameron Champ types.  But not that many.
