Is GAME Golf Officially Dead?

My device just crapped out on me. Stopped tagging midway through my round Monday. When I got home a cycled it on and off it started beeping at me. Wouldn't stop until I plugged it in, hit the reset button, and power all at the same time. Finally got it powered down and now it won't power back up. Or even charge. Any suggestions for a different device? Might be time to move on.

I have the same question. I planned on purchasing GameGolf Live this year, but I'm not sure if I should at this point? 

I just read through quite a few recent (May-June 2020), terrible reviews on Amazon. I would like to hear some opinions on if I should proceed with getting GameGolf or some other recommendations for golf analyzers.

Yeah I still am waiting on a response to an email i sent 10 days ago for the following problem....the thing is I have had very good customer service from them in the past. My Microsoft .NET is fully upgraded to the newest version.

Had seems to be the operative word here. We're all witnesses to the decline of this company. Their database drops for multiple days periodically and they're no longer answering support tickets. In the past two weeks I've managed to lose two tags (after not losing a single one in a couple of years) and I didn't bother to email them about it. I think when I lose enough that I can't fill out the bag anymore, I'm just going to put it away for good.

That's my thought also.   Sad but realistic.

I found a GG Live set and bought it for $15. Hopefully I'll get my money's worth with it this year.

I dug my game golf out again on Sunday, I tried it before (with the app on the phone), but it was never reliable ... so put it away.  After reading some of the info, I decided to just use it in classic mode, which seemed to work fine, and allowed me to review my round afterwards.  Anyway, my query is ..... how do you interpret the info?

As you can see from the attached, in the top screen (grey) I have set to compare against 25 HCP, which then shows me my strokes gained, however, in the lower screens (approach the green etc), the legend shows 25 HCP and 3 rounds ..... but is that also showing my stats/details? But why over 3 rounds and not the last round

You can change the three to five or one or 20, IIRC.

That's what confuses me, you seem to only be able to do last round v 3 rounds, or handicap (25) v 3 rounds, and not a case of handicap v 1 rounds

Select the left column (last round currently selected), select 3 rounds option to the right of that, from there you can select the same options or choose a date range or bench marks.  You can compare all of the options on the left against the same options or vs. Benchmarks from scratch to 25+.

thanks Dennyjones, I did not realise those at the top were clickable .. makes a bit more sense now.  Not the easiest thing to navigate

Sigh and of course, the page to report mapping problems is down so I can't finish signing today's round.  The course was rerouted almost two years ago. 😕

Yeah I dont expect much service from them for awhile. Might try again in a month or so. Otherwise I took the tags off my clubs.

I just got an email fro GameGolf!

On June 14th I sent an email to GameGolf telling them I was "Interested" in buying their product but was concerned about support and asked them to contact me if they were still in business.  Today, June 24th I got a reply from them.  The email the reply came from was not the email I initially used but somehow it must have gotten to them.  I will post the text of their email below.  The email address they replied from was: support@gameyourgame.com.

Text of email form GameGolf:  

Hi Sturat,

Smart Caddie is back. Despite the issues we've achieved the industry leading shot detection standard by a distance. I would highly recommend Pro in not having to remember to tag. 

New Pro units will be available in a month. I would recommend giving Smart Caddie AI at least 3 rounds for it to dial in your yardages. 

Rest assured we're coming out on top with the W. Pro picks up more shots by a comfortable distance. The level of complexity under the hood is why it took this long.

I am not ready to recommend them, but maybe they are getting back to work and maybe GameGolf is on "Life Support" instead of being dead.

I am curious if anyone else has received anything from them recently?

I agree on not trusting GameGolf Pro.  They need to do some work to get rid of the bad reputation.

Lost my GW tag on the course today. Again. I'm officially out of spare tags. I guess I'll have to tag another club for the time being and edit it on my computer. I tried to just play it today and fill in the GW on the detected shots, but sometimes the unit doesn't register a shot when I'm hitting a short pitch or chip and I have to remember where I was and add it in.
