I find the fact that that club actually exists highly dubious.   It's got to be an April fools day joke that they forgot to take down, or an extremely overpriced gag gift for people who'd somehow choose that over having money.

@ChetlovesMer is building a wishlist on TST. So far he’s got a chipper and a putter on it. And a white belt of course.

I already have a bag full of hammers. That's what people mean when they say "Dumb, as a bag of hammers."

By the way, I really want an Alien Wedge and a Vixa V12 as well.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

First time I've seen this one. I like it. I think they may be over-estimating the value of the tee. ... but maybe not?

This one falls under the category of "Why are you using a club designed for a tour pro?".

Yeah, to your point are there a lot of 3's and 7's out there who hit it less than 250 off the tee? I'm guessing there may be some.

My favorite thing about all of these types of clubs is that they are always "Revolutionary".

As if nobody thought of making a lighter driver before.

And yet, these guys will laugh all the way to the bank...lol.

See golf falls under the category of 'it's not what you do, but what you believe in'. 'Never give up' is a double edged sword. Thousands of 'positive thinkers' will re-tool with anything they can get their hands on as part of their new year resolution. 😄

I've always thought there was a market for a subtly illegal club. I think if some company produced a driver with 0.9 COR instead of the 0.83 legal limit. As long as it "looked like" a legal club; Perhaps only on very close inspection could you tell it was illegal. I think a lot of guys would buy it. Of course, guys who play tournaments would avoid it. But the average Joe playing on weekends with his buddies, as long as it convincingly looked like a regular driver, I think it would sell.

I remember playing in a city softball league years ago and guys would forever be trying to sneak in illegal bats. I'm sure those same guys would totally buy an illegal driver.

Just my 2 cents.

Well FWIW, it does say it is 'USGA approved for amateurs' on the website. Whatever that means.

But I agree in general - the subtly illegal club market has always been somewhat successful with the club golfer who plays preferred lies in peak season. Your use of the word 'subtly' makes sense - as it is hard to prove anything outright and enough prevailing ignorance amongst non-serious golfers of what make a club illegal.

Anyway, if legality is not in question, they are just cashing in on the free market. All power to them. Just like you, it ain't for me and I am not in the slightest bit curious of how it performs.

    • Day 250 4-29 Getting chest through with speed on downswing and wrist arch. Also worked on some moving the pelvis slightly away in the backswing. Feel like im going too fast and long, looks like it on the recordings too.
    • Interesting that it's no penalty, but then again, I can't imagine someone would purposefully put their foot out there in this situation or one like it.  And then there was the time someone purposefully deflected his own ball during a major, but that's very different too. The only time I can recall a ball I hit hitting another player or their equipment was ages ago -- over a decade and a half ago.  I had a 3' putt for an 89 and someone (a random pairing, not someone I knew) decided it was a good time for goaltending practice.  That wouldn't fall under this rule, though (and it wasn't in a tournament anyway). Thanks for continuing to share these, Dave!  I always find these interesting.
    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
    • Exactly correct.   I was absolutely certain about the penalty (none here), but the bit about where they play from can be really confusing the first time you read it.  In my big paper rule book, i used colored highlighters to make it clear.  Good thing I did, at the Cascades there's little to no cell service, so using the rules app on the phone wasnn't possible.
