Purchased a Nike Hyperadapt Storm Jacket in anticipation of a trip to Bandon at the end of the year... Carl's Golfland had a great price and TGW matched it....

Just got fitted for the Taylormade SLDR TP 430cc

Fujikura Speeder 7.2 tour spec X-stiff 77 grams

10.5 degrees, down turned to 9.0 degrees of loft.

Will be in my hands sometime early two weeks from now.

Numbers on fitter were great. Around 12-14 degrees of launch with low 2000's rpm. Really repeatable ball flight, wasn't spraying it left or right. Surprisingly the 430 was actually less sporadic than the 460cc, and also less rpm. I like the 430cc, it is very much less hollow feeling. just solid.

Can't wait to get this beast out on the course. I should be gaining about 1-1.5 clubs on the drives from better flight characteristics.

Winn Dri-Tac Red/Black (std.) grips for my hybrid and driver. Also picked up a Golf Pride pistol putter grip. Also grabbed a few polos on Clearance at Golf Galaxy.. it's always cool to grab a few shirts at $25-30 when last month they were $60-70. Golf/Work shirts for me, so it's the best of both worlds lol.

I am pleasantly surprised with the Dri-Tac and I am really happy I jumped from the GP NDMC ship. I'll be regripping all of my irons and wedges with the Dri-Tac grips as well now.

Local golf store let me try out Game Golf -  Digital Tracking System to help track my all my shots and distances through a round "automatically" without having to write down a ton of information on a score card.

I'll do a review of it after I'm done evaluating it if anyone is interested.

Taylormade Burner 2.0 iron set. 4-AW. Looking forward to seeing how poor my golf game is after not playing for the past few years... also looking forward to seeing how the new technology improves my poor game over the 1990's clubs I was using.

    • I have an update… I don't have much of a response, because the fact that they would ADD the numbers for the lead and trail shoulder together… I mean, wow. I was giving them too much credit. Nobody would think to assume they were doing THAT. That's beyond comical. One of the biomechanists I talked to put it this way: "So if I squatted down and went from 180 to 90 deg knee angle, then I would say 180 deg range of motion because I have two knees?" I'd type more (maybe), but honestly, I'm laughing a bit too hard. 🤣 Update: Mini Manavian blocked me on Instagram, so I cannot see his post showing Bryson with about 50° of range of motion (with a driver) from P4 to P7, and 75° only if you go out to the mid-follow-through. What a terrible loss for me. 😉
    • Thanks, interesting to read. The swing is definitely very timing dependent. I hit it consistently I guess but consistently bad.
    • I've shot 91-74 on the same day before. Couple of years ago played a two round tournament on Bethpage Black. I shot 72 in the first round and 90 in the second. First round I played very well. Second round I played okay, but had about 5 shots that hit the lips of bunkers and bounced down into them. A couple of those wound up in footprints - I was unamused - and I failed to get them out. Anyway - lots of bunkers and my bunker play isn't great and then add a couple of footprints and me getting pretty tired and it added up to a lot.  Only you can really tell though what's causing the variance. It might be that your swing is very timing dependent and when it's timed well you play well and when it's not then it goes all over the place. In that case, some lessons and working on your swing could be the key. If it's more that you tend to feel like you hit it fairly consistently, but you have days where the shots come off and days where they don't, then that's more likely a course management issue. If that's what you need to work on, then you could read Lowest Score Wins and build a plan of attack based on that.  Rest assured though that a pretty big range from high to low is fairly common. Even PGA Tour players often have 18-20 shot spreads from best to worst rounds in a season. It's a common affliction among golfers.
