Well hopefully the English don't take this result as badly as the Columbians did a few years ago.

It is, after all, just a game.

What a waste of time watching that snoozer. This is why soccer will never really take off in the US. I’ve played soccer and coached youth soccer for a dozen years. This was as boring as it gets.

Pretty proud of USA after that game. Some expected offensive failures…but otherwise a good performance!😃

D212374A-9C2B-455F-8F6F-8DC294EFB14A.jpegWell that ends today with some great action.

USA - England 0 - 0

Not many expected that one and it takes us to the last games of the group to decide who goes to next round.  Basically win and your in. (simplest math)

For US they need to win to get 5 points and in that case they are definitely in.  A Draw against Iran and they are out since that will give Iran 4 points and England would have 4 points to the US 3 points.

Whales would probably still be on the outside looking in unless they beat England by 4+ since the first tie breaker is goal differential and (ENG beat Iran by 4)

In any case this has set up a lot of drama in a few days time.

Heck, try watching the Browns vs Chargers game or any other football games these days.. Baseball has been shelved by me a long time ago lol.

This game was exciting for me, action on both sides of the field and lots of chances.

This game was like a baseball game where both teams got two hits and never got past first base. At least in baseball they are trying to score. The last 20 minutes of this game the US was trying to run out the clock.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

0-0 not really what you want as far as overall entertainment goes, but we'll obviously take that against England. I was pretty nervous throughout but calmed down when I thought we kinda took over possession at one point. Pretty impressive I thought.

Big time grudge match incoming with Iran on Tuesday at 2pm EST (11/29). I'm already feeling the nerves!

Some good games on deck today

Tunisia - Australia 0 - 1

Wasn’t an exciting affair and the goal was an early one from a strange bounce but an amazing flick to find the side of the net.

KSA - Poland

KSA looking to continue an underdog story

Argentina - Mexico

Argentina looking to bounce back from their surprise loss

France - Denmark

France just looking to keep looking like the top runner

KSA missing a penalty and a rebound in front of the net doesn't sit well with fans!

It’s still possible for something to occur that changes everything…to me that’s the intensity. The game is always moving. Baseball is 3hrs with a combined action time of about 30min.

Ya that was bad.

Poland players are just bruisers and zkSA players weren’t as quick as the mexicans so they pretty much took a physical beat down.  The better team won today.

KSA - Poland 0 - 2

France - Denmark 0 - 0 at half.  Good game so far with lots of chances both sides, but I give the French the edge and think they will probably pull it off.

Maybe the Messi goal was the spark Argentina needed. I think they are going to legit compete now.

Nice goal by Pulisic to put US up 1-0. Hopefully he is not hurt too bad.

That disallowed offside US goal at the end of first half was CLOSE.

US 1 -0 Iran at the half.

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
