Nobody seems to know. I wonder if even Scottie knows. 😄

Brooks with the not-so-great tee shot on 10. Yes! Good.

This is the fourth day he's had to play golf. Insert 54-hole joke here.

A doctor friend/student of mine said he thinks Phil is partying and doing a lot of cocaine.

Cantlay showing up in a major (kinda)? That's new.

Koepka vs Rahm is a good fight. If someone from behind can nudge closer, that would be nice too. Does not look like Hovland will.

What excitement on the 13th! 40-foot putts for birdie!

And a three-putt bogey. So exciting!

Weeeell. Four birdies in a row helps.

Lots of golf left. He needed this boost to get something going.

"There Brooks is right on the CW. The crosswalk." - Jim Nantz

Oy.

Brooks with some good luck again as his ball stays dry at 15. And Rahm, too, given how badly he mis-hit it.

Rahm falling back with some bad putting. And two big pushed irons on 15 and 16. -12, -9, -8.

Good to see the scores close going into the final round. Hopefully it gets tighter when they get to the back nine.

I wonder if the soft conditions but also fast greens is making short game shots tricky. A lot of shots are coming up short. You think it should roll out, but the greens have some stick to them on approach and short game shots.

LIV was not "dumping" Brooks, but there were rumors he was trying to get out of LIV. And he won't be able to play the PGA Tour just because he's a Masters champ.

Sorry, I wasn’t inferring LIV was dumping Koepka.

My point is that LIV can’t force Brooks to be the poster child for their tour, or anything else Brooks doesn’t want to do.  They have no recourse, if he hangs onto his slimmer lead and wins.

Brooks is tied to LIV until after 2025, but he will be talking out of both sides of his mouth.

He will probably placate the PGA so he “might” have one more option in 2026.

That doesn't make sense. They can certainly market the crap out of the fact that the Masters champ is a LIV player. And they can "force" him to do whatever he contracted to do for his $100M or whatever.

He always talks out of both sides of his mouth. Do you know the 2025 date for fact, or does his contract end in 2024? Or another time? What's the buy-out, if it exists?

Huh?

Insert obligatory "no, Brooks, you still have 18 holes left to play. You haven't won yet." joke here.

Couple of interesting things caught my eye at the Masters.  One is that for the first time both Koepka and Rahm faltered in the third round, and instead of running away and making it a two horse race, let the others back in.  I have to assume the rain and weather conditions are what hurt their game more than some others like Hovland or Cantlay.

The second was something I was wondering about.  Assuming Koepka's caddie did indeed signal to Gary Woodland that he hit a 5 iron, I have to ask the question why.  In a fun round amongst friends, no problem.  But in a tournament, where Woodland might beat you (and therefore you get less money), why would Koepka tell his opponent what club he used.  The guy is not your playing partner in doubles, he is your opponent.  Admittedly one on 150+ but still

What's in the bag

  • Taylor Made r5 dual Draw 9.5* (stiff)
  • Cobra Baffler 4H (stiff)
  • Taylor Made RAC OS 6-9,P,S (regular)
  • Golden Bear LD5.0 60* (regular)
  • Aidia Z-009 Putter
  • Inesis Soft 500 golf ball

Same reason they backstop for each other. It's a "you-scratch-my-back-I'll-scratch-yours" situation.

Some guys do it, most guys from what I understand, some don't.

I think it's all bullshit. Play by the Rules.

    • Imma throw a dart in the dark as no one can tell what is happening once every fourth iron shot per your OP. This might sound counterintuitive but if ball position is too far back in the stance folks are known to throw down clubhead steeply. Could be happening. And yes, @billchaois not wrong; clubhead tends to bottom out wherever your pressure is. So slide forward (not sway), then hit.
    • Day 300 (!): did a stack session.
    • Day 24: Missed my weekly round due to a last minute little league makeup game this morning. Managed to get in some backswing rehearsals while grilling sausages for dinner, and then putted around the office/laundry room after dinner.
    • but I don't understand how that's possible you still want your head to stay back you don't want the upper body coming forward and plus I've tried feeling that and it made my fat shots worse and I then tend to pull and sky all my shots especially with driver because I get in front of it dont need force plates to see i finish on my left side
