@StuM, I know at one point the hotel was planned to be the Double Tree in Newark, but I remember some other conversation about an alternate place.  Do you have a final destination for us?

Yes, it will be the Double Tree in Newark.  I will be posting a lot of details, including addresses, etc. I just have a couple final details to iron out.

Almost tee time.  Below are details for next weekend.

I will DM each of you my cell just in case you need something last minute.

We will have some contests each round as follows.  Please bring $20 for each day ($5 dollar bills are preferred)

  • Closet to Pin on all Par-3 Holes
  • Net Skins
  • Gross Skins
  • "Batter Box" Team game (Instructions will be provided) and it will be handicapped so all have a shot.

If you are golf only at Eaglesticks you will pay at Eaglesticks.  All others will pay on Sunday at Virtues...THIS INCLUDES your hotel room if book thru Stuart. You may be asked for a credit card for incidentals but the hotel should not bill you for the room, The Virtues will collect for that as well as for golf at both Eaglesticks & Virtues.

Are we going to get instructions ahead of time for the slower people in the class so that I don't have to figure out what I'm doing 20 minutes before I tee off? It's this, right?

      Our home course would be very interesting.  It is short from the black tees (around 6000 yards) and very few holes are considered not reachable in GIR for golfers who drive max 250 off the tee.  But there are two difficulties.  Only 3 holes don't have an OB though admittedly in some cases it is just behind the green.  The harder part is almost all the fairways slope away on both sides from the centre meaning if you hit a draw or fade, you are likely to wind up at the edge of the fairway or off into the rough if you bounce in the wrong place.

      Day 45 (16 Jun 24) -  Happy Father's Day all - got in a few swings with the clubs, focused on alignment for chipping and pitching.  For me if the target it 12noon, I need to have my feet somewhere around 11 for a solid dead on line pitch/chip.  Worked from about 5yds out to 25yds.  Worked through a series of clubs - 54, PW, 8i and 6i - noting flight patterns of each.
