I feel bad for Rose in some ways. He seems like a decent person too. I’m sure the 3 putt from 3 feet on 16 Saturday will haunt him forever. But his resiliency on Sunday should boost him whenever he feels down.

As for the Euro team a the Ryder Cup, they always have a chance.

Justin Rose = Adam Scott to me. Their careers and achievements have been incredibly similar.

I've always respected Justin, as he's not been content to fade into obscurity or just make a few million a year hanging on to and playing off past achievements.

I think Rose is great. Much respect to his consistency, professionalism, work off-course and a never give-up attitude. But I have mixed feelings about his Masters campaign. Afterall, the dude came within a putt of ruining the perfect ending to probably the greatest unfinished story in golf. 😱

I didn't know until this past week that Rose holds the record for the most times having the lead after day one of The Masters.

He must really love those Day 1 pin placements.

Always been a fan of Rose. He seems like a decent human being first of all. When there's some chatter at the tee he says "Quiet guys, please. Thank you" in a friendly tone. He's always given the impression of being a stand-up guy, supportive of his colleagues and competitors. A friendly face.

His performance as a golfer is more about consistency through his entire career than the large number of wins. He's always around, but had the potential to win more. This Masters they made a point out of him having almost twice as many lead/co-lead rounds without a win than the next guy on the list. 11 wins on the PGA Tour, 11 on the European Tour and the single major, but a lot of top ten finishes.

Erik's comparison to Adam Scott is on point, as the stats demonstrates in the images below. Starting their careers during the reign of Tiger didn't make things easier, but there are few players with more than 15 wins on the PGAT the last ~30 years. I only counted eight from this list.

I'd love to see him win at Augusta. Rory is one of very few players I'd pick over Rose.

He's been a top 100 golfer for almost his entire career, yeah. That's not easy to do, especially as you get into your 40s.

And, all without any real "superpowers." He's not incredibly great at any one thing. He's very well rounded.

I think Rose might have the most zeroed out putting stroke of anyone out there, although as golfing superpowers go that would be one of the most useless.

I like Justin Rose and I wouldn’t mind seeing him win another major, I just didn’t want him to win this one 😃

I am marshaling at the Truist this week at Philly Cricket. During the practice round yesterday, I was at the 5th tee when Justin Rose came by and I asked, are you going to keep your Philly streak going? He looked at me and paused for a second and then laughed and said, that would be nice.

He's won at Aronimink and Merion. It would be a nice trifecta.

    • Reviving this old thread as it seems most relevant to my question on "what is OB". I was playing a casual round by myself yesterday early in the AM. I pull my tee shot that lands near a road and then rolls across the road to the far side. I tee another up and land near the fairway. I was going to forget about the first tee shot, buy a man taking an early morning stroll points out where my ball ended up. I take a look and it is a great lie. I put it to 15 feet with my 54*, just miss my birdie putt and have a tap-in for par. Or do I? Here is the plan view of the hole: There are no white stakes anywhere, so I didn't think anything of it at the time. Here is a street view: Now I picked up my 2019 version of the Rules of Golf and found this  2.1 Course Boundaries and Out of Bounds: Golf is played on a course whose boundaries are set by the Committee. Areas not on the course are out of bounds. The second sentence leads me to believe that the ball was out of bounds as it was not on the course. It is unusual for me to be there, but lots of people wind up over there. I have a two-day tournament coming up here, so I want to be prepared. I suppose I could inquire in the clubhouse about the composition of the "committee" and then ask them, but short of that what does this community think?

    • This is a fun leaderboard. I don't feel particularly vested in anyone specifically albeit we all know one man is looking like he will most probably put this championship to sleep by the time the day is over today. On a different note, I've changed my tune on BDC in the last year or so. I found myself applauding and genuinely happy for him for making the cut yesterday. Iffff a LIV guy wins this year I would rather it be him. Unlikely Scottie who seems to have supreme control of all his levers, he lives a bit more on the edge and yet has the perseverance and might I say, infectious positivity of a small time hustler. Dude just keeps hammering away. Love it.
