As a Razorback I often wear Red and Black, My bag is Red and Black too. But it is not for the cursing, spitting, megalomanic that most people worship.

I have a red shirt and black slacks reminiscent of TW. However, I do not wear it on the course, as you can see from my handicap. When I see someone wear the TW banner of Red/Black, I expect to see a show of ultimate skill.

NO. But I have worn a red shirt and black plus-4's. My normal garb in a tournament is plus'4's, and a tam o'shanter cap. I started that in 1984 after I saw Payne on TV in the Las Vegas tournament.

Comical really, Sue Him!

Any time I play on Saturday during football season I wear an Ohio State shirt with black pants.

I don't care what TW wears. I got black pants and a red Nike-shirt actually, don't think twice about combining them on the course.

If someone expect me to play like TW with that outfit it's their loss, not mine.

You'll never catch me in red, ever. I hate OSU so much that I even hate the colors.

How many people know that BEFORE Tiger started this, the red shirt on Sunday was Curtis Strange's trademark? It worked for him since he was a GREAT CLOSER and was the last player to win consecutive United States Opens--------------1988 and 1989.

I thought it great when Rocco Mediate wore red on the last day of the US Open. I love Tiger but he hasn't taken out a trade mark on the color red (last time I looked). I'd hate for a so called 'tradition' to develop where no other pro golfer dares wear the color red because it's become known as 'Tiger's color'.

Let every golfer wear what color they want without fear or favor, I say. Or perhaps take a leaf out of Ian Poulter's book and wear every color at once!!!

If more people start dressing like Ian Poulter I'm gonna stop watching.

I bet if someone asked Tiger what he thinks about this whole red issue he would say he doesn't really care if someone wants to wear red. It is just a superstition or tradition for himself. The media and fans have made it taboo.

I have a neighbor who has Tiger everything. I've played with him twice in recent weeks. In addition to the red shirt and black pants (shorts). He has Nike clubs, bag, shoes, and apparel. The only un-Tiger is he wears sunglasses backwards on his TW hat. By the way, he's 62.

I have worn red(nike dri fit)/black but i like the black hat, shoes, pants with any colored shirt. I actually like my blue underarmor shirt i have the most but some people have told me your not supposed to wear black and blue. I also believe looking good on the course has alot to do with building confidence.

    • Rule 1.2b refers you to a section in the Committee Procedures (Section 5I) that helps explain what a Code of Conduct may (and may not) do.  Defining acceptable behavior (including smoking) and applying Stroke of DQ penalties are certainly within the Committee's authority. That Code of Conduct certainly should be available, either in written form or in a webpage accessible to all.  It may not show up on the "standard local rules" for an organization, the "hard card", as it sounds like its a policy of this particular golf course. Assuming that's the case it should show up on the Notice to Players for this particular event.  If you can't find it, ask someone, send an email, try to find out.   In summary, yes the Committee can DQ (or withdraw) a Player for smoking, even before or between rounds.  But its up to you to go from there, communication is the key here.

    • Hmm... I not sure I completely understand. If the course has a no smoking policy, then he shouldn't smoke at the course.  I'm assuming since you are aware of the policy, it must be written down somewhere.  As far as getting disqualified from the tournament, I would think that would be up to the committee. But it feels like it is within their power to disqualify, so why take the chance?
