I don't know much about the "Mike Austin swing" but I'm beginning to think "the secret" is to never say anything that anyone can fully understand. ;-)

I think his secret is his incredible strength. He had a tremendous amount of fast twitch muscles. He lifted VW motors at arms length. "In search of the perfect swing. . ." I read this book in the library one evening.

Yeah that's the problem with us 5 Keys guys, we reveal too much in a way people can understand.  Bad for the whole "top secret" marketing.

Not really, if you go an take a lesson from one of them you can really understand how one hand's on lesson basically will equal 6 months - 1 year of online help you are getting here.

And if I go to a restaurant, I'll eat better, too, but beggars can't be choosers ;-)

Yea and you are from NJ, take a weekend trip to Erie, PA. Worth the effort.

Hey just saying man, no need to bust my chops on it. Do what you want.

That is debatable with restaurants, I've been to some pretty bad ones ;-)

In all seriousness, I'd love to, but it's just not something that I can do at this point in my life.

Sorry, nothing I said was meant in any way to mock you, I apologize if it came off that way.

I saw Bruce Meade put on a soft ball home run hitting exhibition one time and the announcer was telling the crowd he was going to be hitting the balls over the light poles. Then Bruce said that it was all in the technique. The announcer interupted him and said "It doesn't hurt anything to be 6' 6" with forearms the size of tree trunks either."

Yup, it certainly doesn't hurt to be super strong.

Take the club in your hands, swing as far back as you can, preferably see the whole driver club in your left eye in your backswing, and swing down as hard as you can through the ball = amazing distance. Proven and tested by me (crazy amateur viking golfer (in womens clothes) from Norway) Trust me, go to the driving range and try, you will hit ball further than before :)

    • I watched it and for the most part it was enjoyable. I did not enjoy a lot of the non-golfer background talk. Some of the hole designs were "wonky"; the par 5 with the three separate fairways - it was obvious tour level players were going to hit for the middle fairway - so no strategy in that design. I would prefer more realistic hole designs with a lot of strategic intent built in. You could see the players over at the computer screen planning out their shots - but not once were we able to hear what they were saying - that is what I would have liked to hear. Maybe in the future they could solicit hole designs from the top golf architects in the industry.  Having the graphic showing the ideal putting line would be nice. I agree with Iacas - having as much data as possible would be nice. Maybe they could have that available on a web site with real time updates and allowing you to replay the shot. So much more they could do! Hopefully as it takes off they will be able to add this. I would also like to see a LIV team - captained by Bryson. An LPGA team - captained by Nelly.
