Gonna try a new average drive poll with some more reasonable distance options. Here goes:

I agree.......

I carry a bit over 240, so I'll say a little over 250 on average for me, unless I catch a sprinkler head!

I'm in the upper end of the 230-250 range. I have to keep telling myself that these are averages , not maximums. I have 4 drives this year so far measured over 300 (Max 323), but I also have that many measured under 200. It's truly amazing how much difference it makes whether you are into the wind or against it, especially when it's blowing at more than 30 mph.

BTW... anyone who posts a claim in the 300+ range must provide evidence...

You guys go by yards, I always go by feet, no wonder I can hit my wedge 300.

Seriously though, 210-230 for me.

Most drives will be around 235, give or take 10 yards. I like to hit it high and keep it in fairway whenever possible. That gives me better opportunities to screw up approach shots.

I'm usually in the 245 - 260 range. Remember people , this is not ''your longest ever drive'' poll...I think i could drive longer , but i prefer a less powerful swing that gives me more control.

i think im right with you...its funny to cuz when me and a certain buddy of mine play, our drives are usually side by side and within 5 yards of each other....weird

I was terrible off the tee last season so going by last season I'd say I was averaging 180-210. Was so frustrated with my driver (my namesake ) that I was hitting 3 wood off the tee more than anything. Prior to last season I'd probably averaged 230-250 (likely closer to 230). I hope to get back to that point this season....

At the end of last season, I was 230-250. The driver was by far my best club. I've been stretching a lot this off season so we'll see if it pays off.

This is not a very good stat to bring up. It considers all shots form the tee including 3 woods. Pro's also admit that they dial down their drives to increase accuracy. You can really see this when they play a hole that gives them a lot of bailout areas at long distances. I watched Els bomb one 300+. Another example would be the longest drives competitions on the Big Break shows. Almost everyone nails it past 300 yards. However they say they would never swing like that in a tournament.
