Most $ you have won at golf?

I love to bet when I play golf. Not big money - maybe $20 a round is the most won or lost, but I find it helps my focas to have little extra on the line.

The most I have ever won golfing was $3,968!!! And that was with a group of guys that don't bet much money. There was 15 of us (one dropped out) on golf "weekend" - 7 rounds in 4 days. We had all kinds of running bets and by the end of the weeked I was in everyone's pocket. I played well, but it was more dumb luck as we played lots of team games and games that you could win regardless of how you played. We have done this trip before and after and the biggest winner is usually around $400-$500.

In the end I did the smart and right thing and took the gang out for dinner and drinks on the final night. The final bill was just over $2,000. I still came home a big winner and there was no hard feelings.

In a golf tournament I won the grand prize in a raffle a round trip for 2 to Hong Kong in Business class with Sinapore Airlines valued about $8,000.

DAAANG!!!!!!! i need to start playing for money!!!! then again, maybe i better not, lol. i'll probably end up like i do when im in vegas. i play (in the casinos) great for 3 days, but on the last day the casinos get ALL of their money back, and then some. my last trip to vegas i was up $4000 by Saturday afternoon. By Sunday morning i was $2000 in the hole....sorry, that was a lil off topic....

that reminds me, the last tournament i played in i won a set of brand new Cobra irons, an iPod/Stereo system, and some really cool adirondack chairs. other than that, i have never played golf for money

$180, I think, a few years ago. Was in the "Traveling League" at Lake View. My partner, who was like 85, made an eight footer on the last hole to beat the guys we were playing with in our modified Southern Point by one, so we didn't think we'd win much at all. I left for my high school practice (as the coach) and someone showed up later and handed me a big wad of bills. Lots of skins (mostly gross), first place, and perhaps a few net skins too? I dunno - we split the pots for everything with the teammates, so my partner got $180 too. He passed away a few months later.

I won a totally lucky $6 skin off a chip-in birdie about three months after I started playing. But it was a $5 buy-in, so in that case, only $1.

About a year ago, I played $.50 skins with a friend and won $2, although the turning point (that affected 2 skins my way instead of his) was on a hole where I don't feel I should have been entitled to a stroke, but was given one just the same. Had I not been given a stroke there, it would have been a push.

the people i play with are more "play for your pride" sorts. if we do put any money down on the game, it's something real trivial like a dollar per hole. the most tournament money i've won was $25 in a four-man scramble (so $100 split four ways).

My Uncle and his friends have a march madness tourny every year. They are all very rich, but all really decent guys. They invited me to come. I had $40 to my name, my Uncle paid my hotel and the buy in, I went home with 1500 in my pocket :) But I won 100 playing blackjack.
