First off I want to let everyone know about this Contest And thank Martin for answering questions and posting that pic of the prototype iron. To answer some of your questions:

I have designed and tested a Tour Striker playing iron. I'll post some more pics. The club is in transit right now as I just moved from Bend, OR to Phoenix, AZ. Much better weather to coach and run my schools. I'm at The Raven. Great spot for golf and coaching.

The problem with this head is the weight disc concept on the back. It has more IP protection than an iPad!

The face is a baby version of easy Tour Striker. It has an elevated leading edge like Moe's old Scotch Blades. I thought I had a face shot, but I can't find it?

Anyway, I'll prowl around The Sand Trap and answer Q's and help where I can.

I like how the design of the tourstriker is, and i have a feeling if a whole set was in my bag i wouldnt misshit ever! haha plus i groundskeepers would probably appreciate me saving the fairways with less divots.

Is the weight disc to help with the swing weight? it is a bit "loud" in looks with the disc haha

i noticed that if i for some reason i were to shave off an iron (like you did before the striker was produced) that it would probly feel a bit lighter than it was originally intended for?

for anybody else out there i was curious. is the Original TS 8i offset? or is it the combination of the elevated leading edge with the loft thats making it look offset to me? i only ask this because ppl on here are getting 7i pro and 5i pro models and i figured they might be slightly different.

Just picked up my second tour striker!  I didn't realize they sold them at Golfsmith, so I grabbed a Pro 7 iron.  I like doing swing changes with a 7i, so I think this will fit my other work a little better.  Can't wait to get out and hit it...

The Tour Striker clubs are actually "onset" a lot. If you grind off the leading edge "Moe style" of one of today's irons, the head will look shockingly off set. The irons Moe used 30 years ago were Scotch Blades with no offset at all. When he ground off the leading edge, they looked pretty good.

That funky tungsten weight disc is thin on the top and fat on the bottom. The idea being that you can rotate it so you can influence the CG around the head. Also, I wanted to make one head weight and be able to fit custom lengths without having to mess around too much. I could have a variety of weight discs, with the tungsten disc for "standard" length and lighter discs for taller dudes. My problem is the IP is already protected, so I've reached out to the patent holder.

Just wanted to again state how great this club is ( 7i pro ) and i believe i have only barely touched on the full benefits.

Played last weekend in what can only be described as swampy conditions lol and thought my game had fallen apart because i kept leaving these golf ball shaped gullies and getting really low flight. I now think the ground was just to soft for a high handicapper try to hit "down" ( I could be wrong and i was just terrible that day but anyway )

Went to the range today after taking a break to try let a shoulder / back issue heal, I'm literally astonished at my ball striking. Shredding balls from my 55 degree down to my 7 or 8i plus 99% of the shots went exactly where i wanted.

My long irons were equally as good, i bought a 2i 17 deg hybrid a while back and have been struggling with it but today i was out hitting my driver ( i dont drive long in fairness ).

I'd say out of 110 balls i had maybe five horrible misses and the rest smooth, good "feeling" shots.

Sorry for the babbling, i realize it was only a range session and also that i will have days where i hit the ball terrible again,  just the feeling off hitting nearly all your clubs flush to me was amazing.

Edit: btw i was mixing the TS in every few shots and also hitting it really well =)

I've noticed that this club tends to do that to people.  It's pretty exciting that a hunk of metal can suddenly unlock so much good stuff.

Heck yeah.  It's custom fit for me, too.  I plan on getting a wedge at some point if money isn't too tight.  I got the 7i because it's a little easier to hit and sometimes I need it to go easy on me.  I took it to the range yesterday and couldn't be more pleased.  Topped the first one, sent the next few high, but off to the right, made some setup changes and started flushing it.  It was crazy Texas wind yesterday, but the shots have so much integrity it's like the wind doesn't even affect them.  They're in a world of their own, just sailing on to the target.

I love the word "integrity" to describe shots struck so pure that they that seem to ignore the wind. I'm stealing that one. It perfectly describes what I feel on those rare occasions when I hit a great ball in the wind. Not hit "hard." Never "killed." More than just straight, the shots have integrity.

I'd start with the 7.  Or get the 56 instead.

7-pro. I think I get the fundamentals of the concept in a club that is shorter than a 5-iron. When I use the TS I am working mostly on impact. 7-pro isolates that for me. And "up" is clearly up with a 7-iron.

Thank you for the replies.  I tried the Tour Striker 7 one day on the range last year and after 15 minutes my ball flight was markedly improved.  oddly it was the only day I was on the driving range all year.

I see the 7 iron as a middle ground amongst clubs.  But, while I'm a middle handicapper I seem to make good contact on my 7 iron on down.  While my focus is currently on my short game, and can not help but think the Tour Striker 5 iron may translate well into my longer irons, hybrid and woods with a much more similar shaft lenght and address.  I'm seeing three packs for like 160ish.  Maybe I should buck up.

I think the Tour Striker is perhaps the best aid I've used.

AND I have mine matching the length and lie angle of my clubs. I also re-gripped my TS with a grip that is the correct size and that helps me know my hands are on the club correctly (sold by my teaching pros). I use it after a few swings with the 6-iron training club from my pros with a molded grip to groove the feel of a correct grip.

My point is, if you want to improve, make sure your Tour Striker is the correct length and lie. Then make sure your grip is the right size and that your hands are on the club the way you want. After all that, if you can hit a ball in the air with your Tour Striker, your doing a lot of this correctly.

My second point is that it was worth ordering mine direct from TS so that I got the correct length and lie -- rather than finding a deal on eBay.

Same here.  I had my Tour Striker regripped with midsize grips just like my clubs.  The length and lie were right, so all is well.

It looks like one of the few gadgets out there that might work and help your swing....but like all of these improve your game gizmos...methinks its way overpriced.....    :)
