It's too bad The Office was only 14 episodes. How the heck did the US version (which I've yet to watch, on my list) make w/what, 200 episodes, is an amazing feat of writing.

Binging on Mr Robot , almost done. I've done a complete 180, I love this show. It's very much a mish-mash, fan fiction, almost derivative, but the acting, writing, cinematography and soundtrack is put together very well. The pilot hit a little too close to home and I know pretty well all the locations they're shooting at which was why I found it a little too depressing. I'd usually be annoyed w/all the fake-outs on whether or not certain characters are real or not, but I'm not and must find out how it finishes. Tonight!

Fringe got very good in the last season, w/the alternate universes. There were some very good one-off goofball episodes. I think one was a detective film-noir and another was a musical, which I liked! I think there was one that was a cartoon. John Noble was amazing. Will never forget him say, I'd like her (Olivia) to taste my pudding!

There was a movie? I saw the Christmas special.

Disappointed with the latter half of Mr. Robot. Loose ends, some things didn't make sense and characters acting out of character. Thought this was going to be a one off mini series for some reason, but looks like the plan is for 5 seasons. Oh well, at least discovered some new music.

Will give it some time before I make a judgement on Colbert on CBS. It's not bad so far.

I grabbed it in the PVR last night, probably check it out tonight. From what I've heard it was meh... Caught halfway between being Stephen Colbert and The Colbert Report, which is what I was afraid off. Hope he figures it out because he is an amazing wit but he needs to divorce himself from the old Colbert Report caricature. I guess I'll see for myself tonight.

Yeah, my impression was taking into consideration how TPTB @ CBS will hold him back. Will we see "This week in God"?

FTWD > TWD. This is how the world falls apart. That's all I have to say. YMMV.

Sense8 anyone?

In the middle of a binge with the wife. It's a NetFlix original-->http://decider.com/2015/08/13/sense8-netflix-the-wachowskis/

All I can say is that it has an epic feel to it.  I get a little tired of every show having to have such perfect balance for diversity reasons, but this series pulls it off.  There's someone from nearly every ethnic group in the world. Every possible sexual orientation.  Each episode seems to have scenes from all over the planet, as the premise is that some strange "new" (or possibly old) characteristic of human contact is activated in 8 people throughout the planet.

These "sensates" can have telepathic conversations, even help each other out physically, somehow- so their diverse "skills" come in handy. Some guys fight, some are scientists, etc.

The first season is about how these 8 people come to understand their new powers, as they piece it together, realizing that some powerful group is out to hunt them down to exterminate this power.  It unfolds EXTREMELY slowly, but it's fun.

I'm just struck with how ambitious it all is. How detailed the creators must've thought through each person, and how they could interact. When they transition from one scene to another, across characters, they often throw in cool little segways.

Odd that Darryl Hannah plays a central role at the start too. I'm not a big fan of hers, but we somehow know that she "gave birth" to this batch of sensates, but it's still unclear what the heck is going on to me.

Here's more. I wish I read some of this before I watched, as a lot more would've made sense. I don't think it's necessarily spoiler, but you decide if you want to go in blind, or have some clue first.  Either way, I think it's pretty enjoyable.

Some sex scenes are pretty graphic. In fact, there's a lot of graphic stuff. Gunshots, childbirth, sex, they don't try to protect your sensibilities.

I only background watched/skipped through all the episodes but the last two which I watched straight through but enjoyed it and will eventually watch straight through. Imho Sense8 and Transparent are the two most original shows, out of the box thinking from Netflix and Amazon.

It's in a small way similar to Cloud Atlas (separated by distance rather than time), but given a much bigger canvas to paint on but it's not straight up sci fi, it really takes its time to dwell on characters or slow down on other things. Like the Bollywood sequence. Agree with your point about the epic feel. And it feels like a tv show made for the world, not the US, that's not so obvious, paint by numbers.

Omg- the Indian wedding scenes were absolutely incredible. I know a fair number of Indian guys here (Wash DC area tech industry), so I've been to several parties like that. Those scenes were visually stunning, and accurate.

My second link was supposed to go here (some spoilers). 8 things to help you make sense of the series:

I never watched Cloud Atlas. Worth a look? I saw references to it being a work by the Wachowskis as well.

    • the rules have changed, but this would fall under 11.2 in the current rules.  General Penalty to any player who deliberately deflects a ball in motion, and you must replay the putt.
    • Day 250 4-29 Getting chest through with speed on downswing and wrist arch. Also worked on some moving the pelvis slightly away in the backswing. Feel like im going too fast and long, looks like it on the recordings too.
    • Interesting that it's no penalty, but then again, I can't imagine someone would purposefully put their foot out there in this situation or one like it.  And then there was the time someone purposefully deflected his own ball during a major, but that's very different too. The only time I can recall a ball I hit hitting another player or their equipment was ages ago -- over a decade and a half ago.  I had a 3' putt for an 89 and someone (a random pairing, not someone I knew) decided it was a good time for goaltending practice.  That wouldn't fall under this rule, though (and it wasn't in a tournament anyway). Thanks for continuing to share these, Dave!  I always find these interesting.
    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
